He's already got the Lonsdale belt outright and McCloskey doesn't have any world rankings, definitely not with the WBO, so the fight wouldn't really get him anywhere and it could be a bit boring, I don't think the styles would come together well.

Think Paul s nearly at the end of a fine career brad will hit to hard for him and feel a stoppage is on the cards

There was a lot of hype around Mccloskey for a while. He floored a guy who wasnt looking and then took a pasting from Prescott but was gifted a decision.

Has he actually beaten a genuinely dangerous fighter yet?

Took a pasting from Prescott and got a gift decision...are you pissed? I was ringside for that one and it was a close, close fight. He got his nose busted in the sixth and showed tremendous courage and bravery to push Prescott back. He was never a come forward fighter either so that was even more impressive.

The problem with that fight was that it was effectively McCloskey's world title fight, only without the belt to show for it. He put his heart and soul into winning that and was spent and demotivated when he lost to Corley a few months' later.

I was being a bit sarcastic there Expe. This is great match-making for Saunders, so credit where its due, but Gavin's opposition has been disappointing and some of the poor choice opponents have brought out the worst in Frankie, rather than the best. For the life of me I don't understand why they don't bring over some Mexicans or South Americans, it would make for more exciting fights and would showcase Frankie's skills properly.

One fight I'd of loved to watch all northeast derby Glenn foot and brad get it on but won't happen now

He'd look brilliant against the South Americans, come forward fighters are perfect for Frankie, make them miss, then pick them off all night.

Winner pushing for the British title perhaps, Saunders the guy coming up withMcCloskey looking to rebuild after an eight round upset loss knows that if he loses to Saunders he will be pretty done for at British level. Definitely a tough pick but the younger and fresher Saunders takes this, but it won't be easy.
