Jirovs a cruiser, Hopkins turned down good money for a Jones rematch, Toneys only recently become hot property again. Lucky for Dariusz that Jones fight never happened really, DM had no interest in Jones and quite rightly Roy wasn't willing to go to Germany. The other fights against heavys? Why the hell should a former middleweight be critisized for not fighting the massive heavys. In fact recently Roy said he's willing to talk about those big heavys for one last big payday.

I kinda have my doubts as to whether Benn wanted any part of Jones after losing to Malinga (the scores for that one were really bizarre, BTW - 2 lopsided ones for Malinga, and the third one 114-112 for Benn), and having seen what Jones did to the Sugar Boy just a few years before. What a left hook that was.

Jesus Christ he looks terrible in those photos! Seriously boiled down. I've been thinking Tarver is going to give him another very hard fight without a doubt, but that Roy would maybe pull it off with a late surge points win. But those photos are making me think Tarver will win this.........

And Benn quite rightly wanted no part of Jones, neither did Eubank. No shame there, Roy was just different class. Benn and Eubank had enough hard fights in their careers without worrying about old Roy too.

Jones may have overtrained this time round.

No, Jones vs Benn would never have happend unless the ££££ was right, Benn said as much in Boxing Monthly a few years ago. The money we would have said yes to taking on Jones was not feesable to make the promoters any profit.

Its like Collins claiming Jones turned him down, but I could say that aswell cause I am prepared to fight Jones for 7 million. The show would be at a loss.

Hopefully Tarver gets the decision this time. Lennox had to beat Holyfield twice to get a decision... I guess it might be the same for Tarver....

Jones won the first fight though, i was a Tarver believer after the BBC cast but since watching it on HBO i realised i was wrong. However i picked Tarver the first time and predict he will win his time too, he has the style to beat Jones and was a class amateur remember, his abnormally long arms give him super human powers.

I always got the impression that Benn at 168lbs would fight anyone if the money was right.

Although at 160lbs I don't think he was in any rush to fight Herol Greham, but to be fair who was?

I lost a bit of respect for Nigel after he quit vs Collins (the 2nd time). He heart wasn't in the game when he said his fire was back. I'm sure he would have fought anyone if the money was write - but his perception of the right money was too high to make the promoters any profit. Infact, they would be in debt.

after the second collins fight didn`t he waltz over to the ring announcer and take the microphone and then on one knee ask his girlfriend to marry him?
then the next day in the papers didn`t he say he didn`t know what he was saying because he had took too many shots?
i`m sure something like that happened but i could be mixing him up with someone else.
it was bizarre who ever it was.

I also felt that as he was also feeling so emotional amd rejected by the crowd he wanted his girlfriend to validate/help his feelings of self worth by agreeing to marry him. Basically Benn wanted to numb the pain of defeat and rejection of the crowd by feeling the love from the woman he loved so very deeply. Totally understandable really.

Nigel was interviewed on a channel 5 show years ago. He claimed that his corner pulled him out of the Collins fight because they knew there were some scarring on his brain following the McClellan fight and any punch could put him in trouble.

Nigel said if he knew this was the case then he would have retired before that, my question is is how did the coaches know and not Nigel and why the F didn't they tell him!!

Also, what about this damage when he seemed to be seriously considering a comeback about 3/4 years ago.
