Hearn, who promotes unbeaten Brook, has revealed that a formal big-money approach has been made to the Khan camp in an effort to set up a domestic scrap between the pair.
“When we heard Khan’s Mayweather fight was on the brink of falling through, I made a serious offer for him to fight Kell,” Hearn said. “That offer – £5million – is still on the table and will remain there for the foreseeable future.”

Dollars, not pounds John.
Still outrageous money for someone like Khan who drew what, 5,000 for his homecoming with Diaz and almost got stopped yet again ?
Can't knock Eddie though, he is trying to make the fight and if he values it that high then fair play to the man.
He should offer 5 million tissues and a metric ton of hand lotion. Help young Amir to pluck the fungus.

Ring are reporting £5m, or $8m, vs the likely $10m he would have got for fighting Mayweather.
Would love to see the fight but would heavily favour Brook by stoppage.
Khan looks to be past his best and agree he has regressed under Hunter.

Khan has fought at higher level, but Brook's punching power would make interesting though.

I wouldn't have thought he would have got anywhere near $10m for Floyd. Half that, maybe. $5m at the very, very most for Brook too.

I thought Steve Lillis had revealed that Brook wasnt on the shortlist of opponents that Khan wasnt gonna fight in his next fight? I'm sure it was out of Porter, Peterson or Malignaggi.

Is it me or is brook allway's hanging off khans coat tails?
He's pulled out numerous times v Alexander who was a good champion just not elite & he ain't fought anyone to suggest he can call out khan who been ko'd lost & won titles back!
Hearn as even gone down saying kell is hard work!

You're right hurlock. Kell doesnt want to earn his way into a big pay day, he just wants to get one by fighting Khan. All these eliminators that he has been in have been proved to be a load of worthless shite.

I think Khan would beat him without much fuss. Brook's levelling off, he'd need a lucky punch to beat Khan imo. I hope it comes off, Khan's been too inactive of late.
Eddie?? Is Brook with this same character that promoted Froch-Groves and said all the tickets sold out in 11 minutes? I've been to Khan fights since Barrera came over, I don't need some dick telling me the tickets have all gone and not to bother

It would be an interesting fight, and would really depend on how much Virgil Hunter has been able to do with Amir over the last year. I could see it starting off like Khan Vs Garcia, with Amir picking off Brook early. I need to be convinced by Brook, he has an inflated record, and I think he is still 2/3 fights away from deserving a World Title fight. I want to see him in a fight against someone like Cano, Karass, or Bailey. These sort of guys are at the same sort of level as Brook in my eyes. Kell hasn't fought a top 20 fighter, let alone a top 10. Khan on the other hand has fought and beaten World class level operators.
This fight all comes down to one thing, Khan's defence. If this has been tightened up then it would be one sided.

Would make a great fight and build up would be good viewing. Khan has seriously regressed under Hunter. Shame as I think Freddie suited his style a lot more.

I've lost intrest in brook he's stagnated. Your right he just wants a pay day, he ain't prepared to set world boxing alight & finding out how really good he is.he wants a big domestic dust up where he can say I've got intrest over here.
Khan would slaughter him! Look at senchenko he punched hattons head off & never fazed/dazed him & he clearly had brook hurt bad.
Frankie Gavin in the next year will beat kell

In all fairness to brook, you say he don't want to earn his way into a big payday and then say all these eliminators have proved to be worthless, well he has tried then (by fighting in eliminators) the Devon alexander fight was out of his control once and the other time he was injured, his inactivity hasn't exactly helped his performances, I think the khan fight will be massive in the uk and don't blame him or Eddie pushing for it !

Khan should take a warm up first (woodhouse would be great) and then fight Brook, no one outside of the British scene really cares about Khan. Khan will probably have a low key fight in the states and then hope the Mayweather fight comes off in September.

Yeah but it's just been eliminator after eliminator with no real point to it. He could of been matched with a better opponent for Senchenko for instance in his last fight but his promoter and management clearly dont have a lot of faith in his ability to win against top level fighters hence the opposition he's been in with up to now.

Senchenko had Brook hurt that bad that he decided to blow his nose before slipping the next punch and then knocking him out the same round.

Senchenko has never beaten anyone with a pulse aside from a washed up, been in retirement 3 and a half years Ricky Hatton. He got his ass handed to him and stopped by virtue of his face being beaten to a pulp by feather fisted Paulie Malignaggi.

Easy money for Khan then - unless he ducks it.

End of the day Khan is the bloke most people wanted to see in with the worlds best in his next fight. How is that lacking ambition from Brook?

With the potential of a mayweather bout gone for khan, Eddie should have knocked a couple off the offer!

Hasn't his promoter just offered Khan by far his biggest purse ?

No, I'm saying that most people wanted him to fight Mayweather, so clearly he is regarded as elite - so to answer people saying Brook has no ambition and is 'avoiding' the elite - its not unambitious of Brook and his promoter to offer Khan a huge purse. Again, the same Khan people were happy to see fight Mayweather.

How would I know? And more importantly what does it have to do with my comment?
