Simple solution is paul smith v tba and rocky is mandatory so easy fight to make both in camps for 12 rounders no excuse.

Anything but a British and commonwealth title fight between the two local boxers is a bad reflection on sky,matchroom and even the boxers concerned. This fight should have been sorted weeks ago.

This is whole think is a joke tbh and just shows whats wrong with British boxing.

I was looking forward to this but lets be honest, it would be a few knock downs and another stoppage win for Rocky. Dodson has been doing this for years, I've nothing against him but he seems to get opportunity after opportunity after opportunity - and gets knocked out every time. Fielding would have knocked him out without much difficulty so its not the end of the world

Dodson did well as a junior, but did he box as a senior?

There are a lot of boxers who do well at a young age (possibly because they mature early and are physically stronger than their opponents) but they then don't have as much success as seniors when their opponents maturity catches up.

I don't think he did box senior - he got a european junior medal but I don't think he got an ABA. I agree with your post + a lot of very successful junior amateurs have trained very hard through their teenage years, they discover girls and beer, get a job and feel they've had had their fill of training every day and running in the mornings.

I'm not sure columbo; some of the very best juniors - Michael McGuire, Gareth Lawrence, Shaun Gray etc win 7 or 8 national titles - I think Brook is a pro boxer through and through and developed a pro style while still young - Ryan Rhodes was similar I think though others from Sheffield know much more.

To be fair to Kell he turned pro at 18 so I doubt he had much chance to fight as a senior.

Same as Rhodes, both had been in the gym for about 10 years though.
