Ken had a vulnerability to punchers, but Mac wasn't totally top-notch.Would Ken be able to survive Mac's power for the duration of the fight?

May 1970
* Mac Foster ~ 24-0-0 {24 KO's} ~ {Age; 27 years, 11 months} ~ 6' 2" ~ 212 lbs. ~ Reach; 78"
vs.
* Ken Norton ~ 15-0-0 {14 KO's} ~ {Age; 26 years, 9 months} ~ 6' 3" ~ 205 lbs. ~ Reach; 80"
I'd take Mac Foster by 'Knockout' all the way. Mac would be too big and too strong for the 1970's {205 lb.} version
of Ken Norton.
Kenny was still 'chinny' and was wobbled in several early-career bouts, even when facing mediocre-punchers. Plus, many
of Kenny's early career KO wins were TKO's, not "flush-punch' Knockouts.
Mac Foster by TKO in 4.

Kenny tasted the canvas in both bouts, and was in 'big' trouble. Luckily for Kenny, neither
Eastling or Mashburn knew how to finish a fighter who was 'out-on-his-feet'.
Aaron Eastling >
"I landed a grazing right hand to his chin, and he fell down. It wasn't even that hard of a punch.
And this guy is supposed to be a future Champion. I don't think so. I'm not even that big of a
puncher, and he fell from a light tap to his whiskers."
And if this had happened in reality, could Ken have recoverd, and still beat Ali in their initial 1973 matchup?Il Duce wrote:Depending on the year........Nile4000 wrote:Ken had a vulnerability to punchers, but Mac wasn't totally top-notch.Would Ken be able to survive Mac's power for the duration of the fight?
