Boxcino Tournament on ESPN on Saturdays, Fox copy this

Been watching Boxcino on ESPN on Saturdays for the last 2 weeks. 2 ongoing Tournaments in 2 divisions spanning 3 and bit months.
8 fighters,elimination format,with 4 x Q/F 6 rounds shown on 1 night.
6 weeks later 4 advance to semifinals,over 8 rounds.
6 weeks later, the final is fought for 10 rounds moving the fighter into a contender position.

I believe this is the best way for Fox to promote boxing here in Australia, and a great way to ensure each division that is lacking any quality matchups to be sorted, and propel prospects into the limelight.

I have been thoroughly impressed and generally excited for each of the 2 shows,as we watch the fighters evolve over the tourney, and watch a boxer progress a couple of levels.

love to see concept evolve,in this part of the world.
Thoughts on divisions that you want to see, with maybe a carrot for the winner

Agreed. I've been following the tournament also.

Would be great to have something like this for Aus boxers.

I really like Middle, supermiddle, lightheavy and cruiserweight for here.

Middle:

Ritchie
Fletcher
Sherrington
Wood
Hogan
Zeraffa
Shaiak/Carol,Sharp or Bryant,Jackson. .

Winner certainly would push himself into a lot of ranking bodies. Maybe a shot at Geale, when he wins a title again or Soliman.

Super Middle to come.

Forget it!
Given their limited opportunity, it would be silly of them to embark on long term ending & $$$
None of the above mentioned could live on zero boxing income 'til end

Its 3 and half months, 3 fights tops if they make the final.

Thats the beauty of the tournament. It's not a super 6.

Its a 6 round, 8 round and 10 round comp. All get paid after each televised event? Given the nature of the event, you would expect some sort of sponsorship.

I think its more than realistic, sink or swim, some of these blokes are closing in at the end, some haven't knocked the frof of a cold one yet.
