Big-Mac McDermott. Supposedly in better shape but I couldn't see where. I suppose we should lay off him a bit as it was his comeback but everything about his performance was poor apart from that decent right hand in the first.

Danny. He had that sleepy eyed look that we get in most of his fights but he was sharp enough. Didn't move like an overweight fighter. N'Gou was rubbish though lets face it.

Mitchell. Well the result was no surprise. Sounds like he's going to be moved out of mismatch territory soon which is good. Warren was funny though the way he tried to pass off that little Frenchman as a step up.

Power. Good little fight. Opponent was no mug. Not sure where Power is going though, he's not that difficult to hit.

I shall be watching the bill soon, got it taped.

Was there much talk of Danny's weight, did they make a cock up on the scales. Did he say anything, I just hope he doesn't consider this one of his better display and will continue being a 19 stone fighter.

From what I have read, Danny may have lost the first 2 rounds, and against N'Gou that is not good for the future.

He probably did lose the first two rounds but he was never in any danger of losing the fight. He seemed quite happy to let N'Gou do his thing for a little bit before he turned it on.

I thought it was a pretty professional display.

Danny looked good enough I thought, before N'Gou pulled a "Sonny Liston".
Still the best heavyweight in Britain.

Mitchell has the big punch to take him a long way. But the easy fights he's getting are making him WAY overconfident.
He seems to think he can just walk through anything. Not worried about defence at all.
Warren said the guy had never been stopped before - well that's a lie for starters.

I got a sinking feeling when he said "We'll step him up when we feel the time is right"

So that'll be 35 easy fights, including 15 WBU defences I suppose.

Compared to the previous nights show in Reading, this one at York Hall was utter crap

i dont think they are doing Mitchell any good at all letting him bowl over these poor opponents.. he will develop bad habits that will be hard to shake off...

The Warren show was devoid of any russian, i think he is missing Fondu!!!

Frank won't risk him against someone who can actually fight back for a long while yet. He'll definately be fighting up at lightweight before too long though, he looks very big for a superfeather. I'd still like to see him in with someone durable. IMO, he's learning nothing by bombing guys out in the first.

As for Williams, he was starting to get well on top in the third. I thought he was clearly taking it easy. N'Gou was looking tired after the first couple of minutes, and was almost out on his feet by the third.

I'll agree with Knockout artist, this was not a good show.

I think it is safe to say that Big bad John Mcdermott is going nowhere.

I have never once been impressed with him and what was that all about telling his (2 stone lighter) opponent he's gonna knock him out.

Mcdermott is as scary as a shaved poodle at crufts.

As soon as he fights someone with a winning records he gets taken out.......Walkies.

So Danny will come in lighter next time? I bloody hope so, I don't like the short notice excuse. The guy should always be ticking over, I have just read the boxrec database for Williams and the reckon he was 261 lbs for Draskovic and only 263 lbs for the last Sprott meeting. He certainly looked lighter than that against Draskovic.

He was 234 lbs for Long and 246 lbs for his rematch victory against Francis. These still stick out as his most sharpest performances and I think should be aminig for around the 250 mark tops.

His fluctation is just quite phenomenal and he is not going anywhere untill he sticks to one weight. There was talk of him going to a Sport Psychologist, well the first thing a Sport Psychologist will try and do is to get to motivate him to get him in the appropriate shape for optimum performance, Danny clearly doesn't what it is - if he thinks its being 260+lbs then he is wrong.

Zikic was never gonna be intimidated by John Mc...

He is an excellent K1 fighter and has fought in the UFC before.......

On a seperate issue, it appears that this wins places Danny Williams inside the top 30 for the first time since Sam (according to boxrec ratings).

Lets just forget that boxrec have Sam himself at 47

Big bad John fights like a twat, he was 2 1/2 stone heavier then the other lad and IMO look that devastating.

I have meet Mitchell and out the ring seems like a nice kid, but is a cocky little bastard in the ring, Should put him in with Buckley for a WBU Inter bollocks title , give him a few rounds without just mowing people down, he may be a talent but will get to cocky if he goes 35-0.

Danny looks dazed as per normal first couple, but his defence was excellent, he's a real talented fighter who needs his head straight, but why is he going for the WBU title . Dean Powell looks fuckin cool ringside , nice shades.

Warren's web site says Danny "failed to impress", and Hide and co would start favorites to beat him.
but Big Bad John was "Back with a bang". Aren't they both with SN now, or is Danny independant? If he's not, sounds like he will be soon.

And the biggest joke of all.....official eliminator for the WBU heavyweight title (Williams V N'Gou) :) :)

I nearly cried with laughter when I heard that announcement. Since when did the WBU have eliminators? They'll be reducing their challenger acceptance list to the worlds top 95 (as opposed to 100) next after such stringement enforcement.

Yeah, really poor show from TV. Typical heavyweight fare really, coupled with another Kevin Mitchell mismatch. I couldn't believe the bull Sky were feeding us about Williams (still saying Danny has a future; Ian Darke even went as far as to say Williams is the best heavy in Britain).
Power's eight-rounder with the tough little Frenchman lifted the gloom but only temporarily. The whole show was flat.

When are Sky gonna make a stand and ensure that better quality and more competitive fights are put on our screens. :(

Enjoyed the night out but as said above some of the matches were just too predictable.
Lee Beavis had some good support in his opener with Peter Buckley..He must've shifted a few tickets as his fans made reasonable noise throughout the evening
I think though a couple of them are new to the fight game (Which is excellent) as I had to put one of them right at the start of the second, as he proclaimed "this round Beavo would do 'im". Mind the the bloke was gracious enough to listen, and at the end I got a tap on the shoulder "nice call mate"...
If Peter Buckley was stopped; Mr Beavis would join such illuminaries as Naz, Freitas and Duke MacKenzie as one of only a couple of handful of boxers to stop the consumate pro Buckley.
Beavis kept busy through each of the four rounds, and was kept honest throughout..Although age and volume of punches secured a good victory
So Dog was an oracle for the first time ever..(instead of an orafice)

I agree that the Martin Power bout was the best of the evening and was great matchmaking at this stage of Power's career.
Better boxing from Power, but at some stages he was much too open, to Codet's hooks and crosses.
Don't know if any one saw what was wrong with Codet's glove at the end of the 4th/5th?..Must have been split...but in any case it took a good 4-5 minutes to retrieve a spare glove from the dressing room
Hard fought win which was appreciated by the crowd.

Mitchell blew his opponent Slimane Kebaili with ease..
The Mitchell fans didn't care too much though.
FW looked very pleased with both Mitchell's victory AND the level of support for Mitchell. He seemed to absorb the Mitchell crowd..I could hear his mind ticking over. joke
There will be big plans for this lad...If a fan base can be built up, we could be looking at London getting a few nights each year; the likes of which Manchester and Edinburgh have had for the past 2-3 years.

Kazaz had noisy support as he outpointed Alan Gilbert of Crawley..Good first round for Kazaz, but the bout petered out with scant success for either man.
Couldn't get a Kebab on the way home. Every where shut

John McDermott..First fight back..Shouldn't really judge him but not overly impressed..timing off..looked clumsy bundling his opponent over in the first round, then treading on him near enough...Can punch, but the authority when leading with the jab wasn't there consistently..
Should be beating Zikic's of the world quite easily; and not rely on retirements of opposition.

From where I was sitting, N'Gou just threw his long puches from the outset, putting his efforts into the first couple of rounds.
The way Danny was defending, was pretty cute; but he saw 99% of the punches coming his way.
Danny countered pretty well, without doing enough to win the first; but I had him at least sharing the second; and starting to dictate matters in the third.
I was pretty close to N'gou in between rounds; he was gasping for air after the second...After the third he had had enough.
Danny would have laid him out in the fifth at the latest.
I know people don't agree with me, but I have followed Danny Williams for a long time..And he frustrates the hell out of me...He has all the tools..With the heavyweight division as it is on the Wolrld scene..A CONFIDENT, focused and SELF BELIEVING Danny Williams will give any heavyweight in the world a VERY good test.

Missed the last bout unfortunately due to having to get home.
Enjoyed it because the York Hall, is well, The York Hall.
Had a quick word with Jim Watt who is always happy to have a quick chat.
Been better nights. But it did beat mowing the lawn in the end.

Having been at Reading the night before, the whole mood was so very different. At Reading we knew who should win most of the big fights (but not sufficiently sure to remove the sense of expectation) and the undercard had a couple of local lads against old timers. At York Hall it was divided between devotees of a particular fighter (Mitchells' fans are at best unsavoury at worst vile) and the knowledgable fans who knew they would see a series of mismatches.
