Do these morons not understand the role these lad's perform on the professional boxing circuits of Britain ?

I just cant take to this bloke,he's a fame hungry wannabe...he always say he's going to do this&that,but always fails to deliver..
Think i read somewhere his opponent saturday night had a 0-11 record aswell

Maybe they don't know the role.

From a personal POV, I hate the 'journeyman' concept - not the individuals of course - and wish 'he' would go away for good.

Is that really true ?

Yep, it is, turned pro with Warren, but lost his 2nd fight and ended up as a journeyman. I don't mind journeymen in general, they play a huge role in British boxing, but Deakin shouldn't be boxing, he's lost 51 in a row, 12 by KO and lost on Saturday to a man brought in to lose after losing his first 11 fights, most journeymen are capable of beating other journeymen or causing the odd upset, but he's never done that.

He fought in Guernsey and Steve Collins told Frank W to sign him, said he looked the bollox out there etc. got his 1st win lost everything since then and his Warren contract right away... He loves it, he's Stone Mad hopefully he gets a win in his next...

Robin's a good guy. Wants to earn a few quid. It's sad that boxing doesn't pay better

I've seen him a few times, surprised he won so many amateur fights TBH

The two highest paid sportsmen in the world are boxers.

I also remember seeing him box on tv in Queensbury boxing league within the last year.
Ive nothing against Journeymen,just him!! they don't blurt out over twitter they going to do this&that,then do sod all..
He used to give Derry Mathews alot of sh*t on there aswell at one point

Being a journeyman aint an easy job, if your a crap journeyman you wont be around for long as you will have yer liceance whipped off you .

I dunno why anyone would wanna do it. Surely there's better and easier ways to make money than having your brains smashed in every week or two.

I have full respect for tough journeyman, but I am uncomfortable with the concept of repeatedly matching totally outclassed guys with top prospects they have no chance of beating. Especially those with bottle and heart who get beating after beating. People talk about the important 'role' they play in the sport. I disagree. If most matches were more even everyone would benefit.

Yeah or if journeymen ALWAYS came to win fans and fighters would benefit. There is little point in a top prospect (Olympian/world amateur medalist) beating up a journey man imo.

Their role should be to teach kids something new and to help fill a hole in a card, not be used as fodder and used for 30-40% of a card.

It's a shame that plenty of them do have talent but won't show it due to fear of not getting booked again though that's a different issue if you ask me (the "ticket seller" issue is related but slightly different to the "journeyman" issue). We look at Deontay Wilder's record and accuse him of can crushing whilst many of our own fighters are doing something similar.

Journeymen don't get 'smashed in' again and again - they wouldn't be able to fight so often if they did. If they get knocked out, they get temporarily suspended by the BBBofC (I used to know how long for, but bit rusty these days, is it 30 days, or 60).

Journeymen usually come to survive without taking too much punishment to avoid getting cut or knocked out, which keeps them out of action.

They serve a useful function for sure, and many of them don't neccessarily have another way to earn a decent living, which I'm sure regular journeymen do, they'll still be getting paid better than your average joe humping shit around in a warehouse, or labouring on a building site. Plus, I'm sure a lot of them enjoy the regularity of the gym, and the thrill of getting into the ring to do their thing, even if they know they will lose 90% of the fights,
