Is it me or should I be more exited about him?

I mean I've watched nearly all of his fights since turning pro and he looked good at the start (most do though as the oppostion is less than stellar).
These days he just looks lazy and unexciting to watch for me. His last fight being a case in point. He actually said afterwards 'the better the oppo the better I fight'. Well I hope he gets some good opposition soon that's all I can say.
He has his hands low and doens't move particlarly well either. I know he mentioned that he is finally free of injury now but that's not changed him for me.

The guy he fought was game and tagged him a few times too but not World level for sure.
All I can say about James is that he has a good chin.

He's gonna need that good chin too. He seems to have changed from a slick mover with a canny dig who slipped and countered his opponents to now regularly switching off during fights and becoming alarmingly easier to catch or trap on the ropes.

I used to think, pre-Groves, that he would go on and become a genuine world champion and make a few decent defences.

However, I feel he has regressed since the Groves fight and he must be frustrated with the fact that while he is fighting in tiny arenas in Bristol and shopping centres in Kent, his big rival Groves is about to make a seven figure sum fighting in front of about 60,000 at Wembley for a world title.

I wasn't sure what his real logic was in moving to fight under Hennessy. I assume terrestrial exposure on channel 5 but Hennessy just isn't delivering him the sort of fights he should now be having. The guy has now been a professional for 5 years, is an Olympic Gold medallist and is a very good fighter and is fighting in front of tiny crowds against rubbish opposition who won't teach him anything while his main rival has now hit the big time.

I'd be looking elsewhere if I was Degale.

i think hes very talented and come the time he needs to fight for a title against someone higher profile then he will take it seriously and be on his game.

he looks as if hes enjoying himself and playing around in there with the low hands ect

hes very confident

However, Degale may end up being a World Champion before Groves

I think the problem is that Degale isn't fighting with any "fear" in him. They seem all an easy nights work and hes sleep walking through his current level of opposition. He must regret leaving FW.

DeGale acted like the biggest prick in recorded history before his fight with Groves. It serves him right that he lost and is now fighting cretins whilst Froch is fighting Froch for fat dollars.

The way things are going with his ranking, that is not a sure thing, Chevez jr is above him and likely to get the shot against the champ first, which he will more then likely win, which will take up a lot of months, Chevez jr might then fight bigger opponents, for bigger money on PPV, degale is not exciting to the Americans, Groves could beat Froch before that.

That may well be true but I just can't imgaine him getting out of that 3rd gear he is in, even if it was a genuine fight.

Degale will be in massive fights soon enough. If Groves beats Froch in the return, Degale is still the biggest money fight out there for him.

If the build up was anywhere like the first fight I think people would buy pay to watch it. On top of that there's the argument that they've improved since that fight (well Groves's anyway) and it would be a different kind of fight.

True I can see groves wanting to be on ppv if he wins! Think degale needs a test in his next fight!

That's cloud cuckoo land though; Groves missed his big chance in the first round last time. He's going to realise Father Christmas doesn't come every fight. He's going to need DeGale to win a world title, so he gets another shot.

I specifically didn't buy the Pay Per View the first time due to the build up. DeGale had been nothing but a cock, and I didn't think he deserved my money.
