I agree with Ricky Hatton. :D

I'd say the tattoed and seriously ugly Ray 'Rocky' Martinez (who fought Cotto not long ago) perhaps takes the crown though....

Holyfield is no oil painting. His head seems to have changed shape since he moved up to Heavyweight....he was never that ugly as a cruiserweight...

Lads - I am not trying to be self-righteous but this is an easy post to make behind the comfort zone of our keyboards, it is a bit harsh to comment on fighters' looks.

Pat Cowdell :D

well, I don't consider myself good looking, so I feel I can proudly call anyone ugly with impunity

Mr B - fair point: if you are suggesting members of the "takes one to know one club" then off you go with your criticisms.

I see myself as more of a de la hoya in the looks department

You can't expect people who get paid for getting hit in the face to be good looking.

Must admit though when I use to box I enjoyed hitting the uglier ones so much more.

I don't understand. I've always believed uglyness, (is it even a word?), to be a matter of relativity. For example, compared to Lisa Riley, Janet street-Porter is stunning.

So in this respect, compared to John Merrick all boxers are pretty boys. However, if i was to use myself as the standard, then i would have to say that all boxers are amazingly ugly. This, of course, would be a tad unfair to say the least due to the fact that i make Brad Pitt look like he has been repeatedly hit in the face with an iron.

My fighting ability could be compared to Oscar's singing or Roy's rapping. I think that just about answers your question.
