Is this fight true or a rumour ?

I don't know, but it's the sort of fight that I'd expect at this stage for Joshua. He's a name guy who generally loses now. Fairly low risk, but looks pretty good if Joshua bangs him out in a couple of rounds.

Not unless Joshua's handlers came down in the last shower.

I hope Joshua's handlers see sense and don't make the fight. Skelton is BEYOND ancient. He is 47 years old and we all know he'll go over when Joshua lands clean. I genuinely don't think its a good idea for our Olympic champ to share the ring with him.

There have been suggestions in the past that Skelton is actually 5 years older than he claims to be, that would make him 52.

pointless fight. Saying that though who can you match a 5 fight novice thats proberly the best heavyweight in Britain today? He's not going to get the younger Fury, that fight wont happen in a long time. The big Fury is a no go either. To be honest if the fighter is from the UK it has to be Price or Harrison. Harrison is a one round fight, and Price could easily go that way too. Its just hard to judge how good Josh is as no one has hit him solidly yet. Do you risk a journeyman who can bang as well as be banged?

With the crap on offer in this country its inevitable that they are going to have to look European or American. But I still say get Harrison in for a one rounder to get one name on the record then go for someone like Cornish who is ranked below Harrison but proberly better. Then go for a good Commonwealth opponent Lucas Browne for the title if indeed he wins his fight against Bahoeli. Should be straight forward up to 8 or 9 fights then the British title with 3 easy defences. 15 fights start thinking about the European title then a world shot at 20 fights.

On paper sounds easy and really should be. If Josh aint a world champion by 20 fights ill be very suprised

Skelton is durable and AJ could do with rounds.
Good match-up at this stage for Joshua.

Skelton was a career lightest v Price. He must still train hard, but getting v creaky.

Mickey, im not jumping the gun, you cannot dispute that Joshua is proberly the best heavyweight in Britain today. Discard Tyson and Haye and there is no one in the rankings that can beat Joshua. Its purely on the basis of the current crap in the division today that is all.

Mickey, don't you think that Josh can easily KO Harrison in 1? And take Price out in similar fashion?

It s by no means a given that he ko's either in one. His last competitive fight he arguably lost. There is just as much chance, probably more, that Price would ko him in one.

I know what you are saying. Joshua hasn't been hit yet so as soon as his chin is hit he could fall like a sack of spuds. The only thing I can see differently in Joshua, Harrison and Price is experience. That is it. However, you have to start moving Joshua up in class to answer those questions. Joshua v Harrison at this stage is a good fight for him. It should at least tell us something, however it might not prove a good fight after all as Harrison will collapse with stage fright. Getting in with Skelton would maybe answer some questions if Skelton came to fight. But with his age I still think Joshua wouldnt have much problems. Im going to take back what I initially said that its a pointless fight as I think he would last longer than Harrison.

Skelton is a rough old dog and he would be a learning experience for AJ. not sure what to make of Joshua. He looks decent but his movement is not the best and I don`t think he hits as hard (yet) as some people think.

He stands very upright and at the moment is very open for a left hook when he throws the jab. How would he last over 12 rounds with a guy who can take his shots and is throwing back. We are a long way from finding out the answers to these questions.

Sprott would be a great fight to guage where he is at.

Zack Page would be a fight I`d like to see as well.

Right now I would not put him in with Fury, Haye or Price. he is not ready for any of them. Say what you like about Price, but he can bang.

Skelton is about right. He's fearless & can make it ugly and take Joshua rounds if his body holds up to the punishment. Then someone like Sexton who is technically pretty good but not too threatening and in case he outboxes Joshua for a few rounds his stamina issues will present a get out of jail card. If he gets past those 2 with no problem then step up to Sprott who is more than a British level gatekeeper. After that go for a Euro belt.

Like ive said before, im not totally sold on Joshua. He's clearly decent but still looks very stiff and robotic like in his style.

Skelton would be just about ok for a 5th pro fight but he is wayyy past it

im always a big fan of building up domestic rivalries into super fights. dsnt happen anymore these days...

but id do what lawless did with Bruno ie fighting Bugners opps

if danny Hughes lasts into the third with Fury then id put hughes in with joshua after.

He's ancient though !!! I can see him crumbling badly as soon as Joshua unloads, and the crowd reacting badly. The man is literally old enough to be Joshua's dad. I don't think it will do Joshua any favours at all. Sprott - himself nearly 40 - is acceptable, as is Sexton and McDermott.

Joshua v Harrison tells you nothing! Harrison is a bum now who's gun shy it would end in a round. Skelton is a good fight for Joshua , some of the posters on here know nothing about boxing! Skelton last fight he went ten with McDermott , why should Harrison get another big pay day? Get a grip guys

I would rather have Harrison's name on my record after 5 fights than Sprott, the fight would sell. 2 Olympians. It could be called 'Going for Gold' Sprott on your record means nothing and would not generate cash!

I would pay to see Harrison get his arse kicked in 1 round, wouldnt pay to see Sprott.

Even if I know eff all about boxing I know what I would want to see and its not Sprott

what about McDermott for the english belt

Sam Sexton might cause him a problem for a round or two.
