Can't set allegedly hd to record the Garcia card tonight been able to record every other show since hd Chanel started??

You need to have broadband or phone line connected

Just checked on my system and its the same problem.

I can record the non-HD live broadcast, but when I try to record the channel 490 HD version of the live broadcast, it won't do it - and wants to charge me PPV !

I really hope this is a technical issue / glitch and nothing more. I might email them about it. I can live without watching it HD tomorrow but I hope its not a sign of things to come.

Is your SKY box connected to a phone line?

To record B0xNati0n Live HD (Sky 490), select the program & press "record", then "buy" for £0. You might have to enter your pin number for the SKY box. If you SKY box is not connected to the phone line you may have issues.

I was confused earlier, couldn't find the original BN HD channel 449

Seem's BN are cutting costs and only showing live shows in HD on 490 and scrapped 449

If you subscribe it should say £0 charge - if not £27.50

Now you mention it, no I don't think it is - I recall being fleeced an extra fiver when I bought Froch/Groves PPV on the day, it was an extra five quid because I had to ring up to order the show, and couldn't order it via the red button. Damn. I recall telling myself to sort out the phone line, then totally forgot.

It's recorded fine every other time, I don't have a phone line or broadband, but every other time it's been fine??

BN have changed the way its done - I think you may be screwed without a phone line or broadband

Its to get the PPV customers who haven't subscribed

I just used a network cable from my broadband router and took it out once set to record

You maybe able to watch it live though, if you can't record

Same carry on for me. I've had to go for non HD, can't be bothered messing about with it.

It's gone from 449 to 490, maybe that's problem.

Don't have a phone line or broadband where I'm staying at the minute the thing that pisses me off the most is that it worked fine the first couple of weeks it wasn't till they started the ppv that it fucked up

It's not broken - BN have just changed the way they are selling and making it PPV for non subscribers on ch490
It confused me for a few hours
Unfortunatley you need a phoneline or broadband - it doesn't need to be in during the broadcast, just a few seconds whilst you purchase, then you can take it out

So just put a phone line cable into sky box then purchase then set to record? Silly question time! Where on the sky box do you put the phone line into?

There's a port at the back of the SKY box labelled 'telephone line' - put the cable in there

I'm not sure about the phone line one as haven't had one for a few years but there will be a slot on back

The broadband one goes in the back left hand side (ethernet cable)

It does work, takes a few seconds, just click record / purchase for £0.00 and job done
