It's very much its own area focusing primarily on representing banks/other institutional lenders who lend money to different companies or companies who borrow money from banks/institutional lenders in its most basic form but can encompass all kinds of financing transactions: bonds, loans, securitisation, trade finance, capital markets deals etc.

Corporate law in its most basic form is predominantly about one company buying another (mergers and acquisitions) via a share purchase or an acquisition of the assets of a business. Banking law is more about how companies raise finance in different ways. Obviously this is a gross simplification.
