Hughie Fury overtrained.

Interesting to see peter Fury is saying Hughie has been over trained as he is still growing. I have been saying this for over a year, at last they have realised it. I like Peter but the fact that its taken him this long to realise what to me a non expert was blindingly obvious is a bit worrying.

it keeps me up at night.
He's only been a pro since last march. That means you were saying he was over training before he even made his debut
Nah, I half agree with you, I'm just in a mischievous mood mate

Not an allegation that can easily be levelled at his cousin at the moment.

He has looked burnt out in his last few fights (not including his last one) and I've said it on numerous threads. Slow him down, up the opposition bit by bit and he will be challenging for genuine honors soon.

They still seem to think a few days rest will see him alright it won't someone who is still growing shouldn't be on a heavy training schedule especially if it involves weights. He should be on light training and sparring for six months and should not have turned pro till he was twenty. This should be a warning to other young heavies and their trainers.

I watched an IFL video yesterday (might be the one linked above) in which Peter was blaming puberty.
That is a first in 40 years of watching boxing for me.

Peter was saying the kid is too young to be doing the training he is exactly what I have sid since he turned pro the only difference is I think he needs years to mature they think it will happen in months. So far I am being proved right and Team fury wrong. What is happening is exactly what you would expect when a big and therefore slow maturing guy turns pro too early and overtrains if they don't slow him down they will end up with a fighter who never reaches his potential and is injury prone.
