The best sustained body attack I remember from a fight was Mustafa Muhammad/Marvin Johnson, that was nasty stuff.

The most underrated body puncher is Hearns.

Some of the best I've seen, Duran, Frazier, Pintor, Castillo, Mosley, Pedroza, Whitaker, Toney, Leonard.

Matthew Hilton had a wicked left to the body.

Arguello's bodypunching is under-rated. he smashed the crap out of the likes of Mancini and Chacon and Ruben Castillo to the body, made Boza sh1t his shorts, etc.

he was great at booming the counter right uppercut underneath, when he'd slipped a right hand from his opponent.

Same here. Eddie was so fluid and smooth that night and those shots to the body were bonebreakers. And don't forget back then they used much smaller and tighter gloves than the use today. I guarantee that Marvin Johnson bled internally from that beating.

Unrelated to the post, I wouldn't be opposed to either of these two men being inducted into the IBHOF. If Saad, Galindez and Braxton are in then they should be considered as well.

Chavez is usually counted in among this group. Interesting he's missing this time around.

Well, we can't really have this discussion without mentioning Mike "The Bodysnatcher" McCallum, now can we?

That is what drew me to him. He was really hurting people downstairs and stopped many fighters on bodypunches, and his finishing combination against Tommy Peacock in particular was gorgeous(http://youtu.be/ZEWutN2IG8I). His footwork was very good and he was able to create great angles for himself because of it.

Aside from the ones already mentioned, it seems we are forgetting Henry Armstrong here.

Tony Zale's body punching against Graziano in the third fight was brutal.

McGuigan's body punching was a joy to watch as was Barrera's but the best of recent years was Micky Ward. A get out of jail card if ever there was one.

I'll have to look at his bouts, I've avoided them as I imagined he was just a walk forward tough guy with little offence.
