i just took a quick flight over to vegas to catch this

It looks like Mayorga is doing the thumb on nose, wiggling of fingers "Na Na Na Na Na Na" thing.

I haven't seen that in the school playground for years.

Tito's deranged if he thinks he can go straight into this fight without a warm up and win. He'll get murdered.

We'll see. Fighters who are stuff legends are made off can pull off that kind of feat, in my opinion Trinidad is that kind of fighter. He'll beat Mayorga.

Win or Lose, Tito is a real warrior. He's in his 30's and I am not sure why he is doing this. He hasn't got the time to be playing about with Journeymen, so he going for one of best fighters available.

Might as well test what he has got left early on, Leonard did it vs Hagler.

I'm going for Tito aswell.

That's what I was thinking, maybe Tito knows something we don't such as he has/will have some 'real; gym fights with quality fighters behind closed doors to shake off the ring rust.

Just like Leonard did for the Hagler fight, I believe Leonard had some 'fights' behind closed with Quiccy Taylor and Frank Fletcher.

That's true. Leonard was in great shape. However, in my humble opinion, he was still essentially gifted the fight by Hagler and his dubious mindset that incredible night in 1987. Things go around in cycles they say. Hagler's first and last world title fights saw him cocky and overconfident, and it cost him both times. "He'll eat my jab all night," he said prior to his world title challenge to Vito Antuofermo in 1979. He boxed as if HE were the world champion and the judges came up with a draw. Today, Hagler would definitely have got the nod because the game has changed so much. But back in 1979, there was still a feeling that a challenger had to TAKE the world title. Really grab it. Hagler didn't do that.
But he showed he had learned his lesson when he ripped the world title from Alan Minter a year later and in making 12 defences of his world title. But then came his last world title fight. His last fight altogether. Enter Sugar Ray Leonard.
Hagler was an immensely proud fighter. It irked him that Sugar Ray felt he could come out of retirement and beat him. He decided to teach Leonard a lesson. He decided to outbox the master boxer. That's what he felt he was doing in the fight and that's what what cost him. It was just like Vito all over again. Hagler believing the win was in the bag and not fighting flat out.
Leonard didn't give Marvin a rematch, of course. He took on Lalonde, Hearns and Duran in the two-and-a-half years that followed his shock win over Hagler - and still looked good. So the fact he refused to take on Hagler during that same period speaks for itself. Leonard was no fool.

Excellent points indeed, yes Hagler wanted to prove himself not just the better fighter, the better man, but the better boxer. By the time he realised it wasn't working, he had given away 4 rounds and was playing catchup, a game nobody ever did well against Leonard. The two men who gave him the most trouble in his prime, Hearns and Duran, did so by taking the early running in the fight, and not letting Leonard slip into his rhythmn.

I think Tito has a shot, Mayorga ain't a great fighter, and he lacks some discipline. My main concern is Tito's fitness and his ability to take a shot from Mayorga. I don't think Mayorga will be a killer at middleweight, he's a natural light middle, and what is for certain is that Tito is a world class puncher even at middleweight.

Hopkins made damn sure Tito didn't tag him too often, is Mayorga capable of doing the same? I'm not convinced.

Mayorga has an iron chin, he'll take some shots off Tito but keep on coming. Trinidad is going to be a bit slower, and he's not been to hard to hit, even at the best of times.
I've got a feeling Mayogra will catch a rusty, still warming up Trinidad early.

Wonder how the odds makers will see this one. Hard to be sure, as Mayorga looked bad last time out, and so did Trinidad.

Trindad looked okay in the Cherifi fight.

Mayorga has a good chin, but he's never been in with a puncher of Tito's class.

I admit though, yours is certainly the most sensible option given Tito's poor defence and slightly questionable resistance.

I actually thought there was a slight resemeblance to RJJ in the first photo.
