I am only asking as in float documents it said around 92k subscribers.

That's £900,000 a month + advertising revenue (from the underwater shaver )

"Nation Media plc will own and operate B0xNati0n, a dedicated boxing channel with around 92,000 paying subscribers in less than two years as a pay channel".

I'm not sure if 92,000 was the amount of subscribers as of February 2014, or the average monthly subscription level over a 2 year period.

Chad, are these figures inclusive of people who have signed up and no longer pay?

Is it just everybody who has ever subscribed, or a current and active subscription figure?

In the float document it said the base of current and past subscribers was around 200,000, so I'm assuming that it's the current number of subscribers.

As for current subscribers you where right. As of February 2014 B0xnati0n where sitting at 92,000 paying subscribers. A drop of nearly 13,000 over the Christmas period.

We all know there is little live boxing from mid-Dec to mid-Jan, I thought they could have tried a bit harder to give viewers new content over that period. If they lost that many subscribers, that is a massive hole in the channel's income. On the other hand their overheads must have dropped a lot in that period of time, as they didn't buy any shows.

I suppose the added value of a mega fight like Mayweather or Pacquiao is that you get them all back plus new ones. You're preaching to the converted in a way - they've signed up once, you have their email details, you know they love boxing, and you're showing massive overseas fights with the world's best boxers.

It's not so bad if you are a Virgin Media customer. If you cancel the channel and re-subscribe there is no £10.00 registration fee. You just re-subscribe through TiVo hassle free. I've never been a fan of how SKY customers get the shaft. £10.00 registration fee then having to pay via PayWizard. I have a few mates who would subscribe but they feel £20.00 in the first month is a con and PayWizard is a pain in the hoop.

With rumors suggesting Cleverly is due to move to Matchroom tomorrow, I would not be surprised to see B0xnati0n announcing the Kovalev fight on Twitter during the Matchroom press conference. Plenty of "The man who Krushed Cleverly live this Saturday on B0xnati0n".

How would a freeview channel work, if he were to start one?

would they just put repeats and small hall shows on it, maybe some amateur stuff?

Would still be encrypted, would just let subscribtions through free view for those who don't have virgin or sky.

I remember you could watch Bellew Vs. Cleverly if you had a Smart Freeview TV. The fight was broadcast via a streaming channel.

VUTV recently launched on Freeview channel 238. For £6.99 per month you get Lifetime, Comedy Central, MTV, CNN, History, H2, Ci, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, NickJr. and Cartoonito.

If B0xnati0n was to launch on Freeview, I think the VUTV model would be the most likely option. It's much cheaper than launching an out and out channel on Freeview and could easily be implement by their current streaming partner Livesport.Tv Only problem is only around 2.5 million households currently have a Smart TV.
