Matty askin, tops the bill this weekend at the Blackpool winter gardens against menay edwards.
He's defending his English title,it is also a British title eliminator.
I believe matty, can come through this fight with edwards and kick on for a British title shot.
What do you lads think?

Edwards is no pushover though,he is awkward and throws a bit too. Be interesting to see what mike Jennings brings to the table In terms of technique etc

Been hearing some great things coming out of the gym about manny in sparring, smashing some decent level British heavyweights up not going to name no names! Fancy him to cause a big upset here

Matty has had some good sparring too, with the likes of bellew,Dawson and Dickinson.
Should be a good fight.

It's a big night for Askin, and big night for the Jenningses as they top the bill as trainers for the first time (I think). Hope it all goes well. It's not an given though. Edwards is decent.

Yeah,it is for matty and mike and myself.
We now menny is no pushover, but matty has come on a lot in the last 10 weeks, which is testament to the sparring and mikes, knowledge.

What I can tell you is Menay has had the best preparation of his life. He is going there to win. Of course its a tough ask on paper but he has a live chance. We are going there to win!

I like Askins, but don't think this is has clear cut has some was thinking, I've been hearing that Edwards is looking great. He's awkward at the best of times and Askins downfall is he seems to get frustrated easy if things aren't going his way, so if Edwards is truly on fire then could see what many would think is a upset happening.

I've not seen him the first fight I saw was the Louis Cuddy one, But I did miss the first 15 mins of the broadcast.

His fight could be the floating fight that maty end up after the main event which is on now.

"we took the stream down due to fighter injury" - that's strange ?

you can't grumble when these shows are broadcast online for free but its the 2nd VIP show I've watched online and it's just an endless procession of 40-36 prelim bouts.

Storming fight that resulted in Menay being taken to hospital. I've not had an update this morning and would be grateful if someone could post up any news? Wishing Menay well.

Well done Matty, Mick, and Dave!
