Someone who can search records for me??

Hello,
I've tried finding a record of my dad's boxing based only on his glove patch, which is from the 1950's (possibly the late 40's, but I think the 50's is more likely).
I've had no luck finding his record. Can someone find any info for me? It would be sooooooo appreciated!
He was born in 1927 in Illinois and began boxing in the Marines, or before, not sure.
I haven't figured out how to attach the image to this thread. It's a golden (mustard color) glove patch from a jacket. His name is on it: Jim Lockas (the 'c' is darker than the other letters as if it was gone over with a pencil.. I thought his name may have been spelled wrong in records since his name is rare anyway).
The patch also has Los Angeles on it.. 175.. and Champ (which is embroidered in cursive, whereas the rest is embroidered in print (all caps).
JIM LOCKAS
LOS ANGELES
175
Champ
all embroidered with red thread
If someone could tell me how to upload my image.. that also would be greatly appreciated.
