Has to be in Liverpool if it's been made. Wasted in London.

Eddie was talking about a Liverpool show and a hull show in june &july to be announced. 1 was going to be a prizefighter. Looks like this could be Matchroom's big final show before the summer break in July at the echo arena with the re-arranged Ste Smith fight and another Bellew fight before the Cleverly showdown later in the year.

sounds reasonable enough, hopefully everyone stays fit as the pull-outs really killed the last liverpool show

I think like all fighters they boil down couple days before the fight and he had done that and was that much over.

mmm - didn't the BBBoC demote him from his position as #1 contender or something like that? Seems a bit pointless if he is getting a shot anyway.

What about his opponent who tried (and did) make the weight that I assume was stipulated on the contract ?

The reason that he came in so heavy was because he could - I wonder what would have happened if his opponent had weighed in nearly half a stone over ?

I thought that was a mean-spirited thing to do (to come in so much heavier than his opponent) and it would have backfired horrendously if Rocky had hurt his opponent.

I bet Eddie considered the criticism of Lee Purdy debacle, and told him to put safety first... but I doubt he envisaged the huge disparity in both size and weight between them.

They could have at least given Adamu the choice of coming in overweight as well, if he did that would mean he was unable to win the title, but at least then it would be his choice and he would have known the situation beforehand.

It was reported by several media outlets that Adamu was informed and given the choice, he insisted on the original terms so he could try and win the belt.

I said the same thing mate. Fight would have been off for sure. Complete farce.
