Is this a good fight for Burns? Personally I think so as I'm not convinced he really gains anything by fighting Crolla or Murray.

Where is the appeal to a Scottish audience for that? Doesn't get him closer to a world title and he's already beaten the best English lightweight.

Putting the boot into billy too, doesn't read a fight well in the corner? Unreal Ricky doesn't listen well in the Corner, from snippets you heard on the footage Ricky did not listen to a single word

Thats pretty poor from Morrison slating Nelson's reading of fights,considering everything Billy helped Ricky(and Alex) achieve

Not liking the ideas for new trainers either, Sanigar could be a good option, but I don't see what Sims or Gallagher do for Ricky, apart from a change of scenery.

Don't know much about the guy but purely based on boxrec, he is coming off a win against mosquiero (former WBA super feather champ). A few ko losses in there as well though.

Does anyone know anything about Prieto and is he a potential banana skin?

If Warren put Burns in with this opponent there's a lot in here who would slaughter him.

Nothing wrong with Prieto as an opponent. Looking through his record you'll notice many of his losses came when he was fighting at 140+ and a split loss to Ortiz is a genuinely good result...Burns should win but it's not an awful opponent, not great either but after 3 poor performances we can't really expect anyone great.

The only thing I would be worrying about is how much do they know about him. They had problems with getting footage of Gonzalez and others in the past, the last thing Burns needs is to go into the ring, low on confidence, against an opponent he knows nothing about, apart from standing next to him at the weigh in.

is he though mate? He is entitled to his opnion and as a fighter manager he will only want what he thinks is best for his fighter and has to be objective.

You hear Billy in the corner giving him advice every round then Ricky just ignore it and even argue with Billy.. I might disagree with Billy on things and I also think a change may have been good for them but in honesty Ricky needs to look at himself for his downfalls recently and not Billy... Ricky was wanting to quit against Beltran and Billy kept him going with excellent corner work.. Also in the Gonzales fight.. I think it's a bit rough of Alex IMO

Crap fight. 99% of fans would rather see him fight the winner crolla/murray. How anyone thinks priento is a bigger is clueless. Nobody has ever heard of him, and all brit fight sells way better than this fight

Is Morrison still on the scene because Burns is scared of him? I don't understand what he brings to the party. He's like a Wegie gangster version of Prince Philip.

What a man of honour. According to Fwank, he offered to drop Ricky in the xxxx, in order to save his own skin (the lawsuits from Fwank). Now he's putting the boot into Nelson, with the good old benefit of hindsight. It would be more fitting if he got down on his hands and knees and thanked Billy for the way he turned Ricky from a domestic under-achiever into a world champion. It was that transformation which allowed Morrison to enjoy his ride on the gravy train for the past few years. He's now hoping another trainer will sprinkle magic dust onto Ricky and allow the gravy train to set off again.

Over on Eastside Boxing Billy is still acting with dignity and defending Ricky and wanting him to do well and supporting him. Billy is a top guy and even though we have banter etc he deserves more respect from the whole of team burns, Hearn, Morrison and Ricky himself. Billy the cream always rises to the top and I have no doubt you will be training another fighter up from nothing like Ricky to fight at the highest level.

+1 Billy has to take a lot of credit for Burns success and that article IMO was disrespectful.

This Preitos record doesn't look too bad his last win was beating a local fighter in Panama so has won on the road before.

He needs a dominating performance next time out
