He has a helluva story to tell. Mostly a depressing one with all of the family tragedy he endured.
I'm inclined to agree.Il Duce wrote:That statement is a 'low-rent' cheap shot on a good guy.klompton wrote:If Chuvalo had anything to do with it it will be about how he really beat all of the fighters he lost to and the ones he didnt face ran from him.

The early Amazon reviews indicate the book is a very honest one.
My hound dog nose tells me Chuvalo is indeed a good guy.

Pardon me if Im not petrified at the thought of a 76 year old, who was known for getting his ass kicked in his prime, being mad at me...

That one review of the lady who gave the book to her husband as a gift and he said it was 'okay'?
Were did she get a copy?Does she work at Harper and Collins publishing Company?
Maybe she is confusing George Chuvalo's upcoming autobiography with the earlier book about George Chuvalo entitled FEARLESS
which came out several years ago. From what I understand that book was geared for
people and readers in junior high school.
didnt take you long to edit your warning out of this post...BoxBuzz wrote:....I like the ol' Canadian....and suspect he just might give a pretty good accounting of himself even in his 70's. So for anyone who does not think they need to worry about this guy....fair warning....you just might wear yourself out trying to get the upper hand over a fella that durable. And once your tired, he just might pick you apart.

whatever buz. its not exactly a secret that you are the most ineffective mod most here have ever seen. a nice guy, yeah, but total shit as a mod. you can pretend to play dumb about douches continual breaking of the rules but its not fooling anyone else. the sad thing is we all get it, you love to match wits with this idiot. if it makes you feel intelligent to match wits with a hyperactive 12 year old with an overactive imagination so be it. just dont come on here and pretend your hands off approach is "moderating" for christsakes how many times have you warned him publicly and privately for a range of violations only to do nothing? ive personally seen you warn him twice only to delete those warnings when you decided in a cowardly handwringing way that you might be too domineering. should i post all of the times youve pmd me offering to delete Douche from my posts only to do nothing about it? who do you think your fooling by calling me a hypocrite because im not afraid to tell it like it is when it comes to you and your "golly gee" approach. hell, ive considered more than once that YOU are il douche and get a kick out of the trolling. i find no other eplanation for why anyone with one ounce of sense would allow his shit when every other board on the net, most of which were once nowhere near as good as boxrec, has banned him. but hey whatever, keep it up and be proud that you daily drive people away to other forums, I know because they let me know everytime i make a post like this. whatever, its my own fault for even coming back here. you and douche have fun bantering your inane pseudo witty nonsense back and forth.BoxBuzz wrote:Take responsibility for your own brand of crap you hypocrite.
I'm not here to keep people's opinions at bay....regardless of how outlandish.
I do attempt to keep people civil and following the rules. (No rules regarding imaginative fictionalizing.)
You did say earlier that you had put him on ignore, SO when I saw his post...I wondered why he might be talking with a ghost, but thought I'd take him to task for it. I took YOUR word that he was on ignore from you because I assumed you spoke in facts. Not to worry, I've adjusted my assessment on that issue.
You guys can chew your straw, and argue all day long, just keep it within the rules. And when two are going back and forth tit for tat, I don't consider it trolling...I consider it a difference of opinion.
I wouldn't give a month's salary . . . but it would be interesting to see Klompton tell Chuvalo face-to-face that George is a "legend in his own mind" . . .Il Duce wrote:A Fantastic Read
Clearly a well put together piece. The story about George Chuvalo's life.
No fluff in this Autobiography, with the help of Murray Greig, clearly one of the best boxing writers from Canada.
As a side note;
I'd give a Month's Salary to watch George Chuvalo shove that Harry Greb Garbage Book down Klompton's throat at
The Bookworm in Carbondale.

Yep, I find it hard to dislike Chuvalo. What fighter does not see himself as being one moment, action, or a judgement from winning every battle? Why would that push anyone's buttons? If you don't have confidence I would think it would be a pretty bad career choice...lol. And yep that confidence borders on egomania from time to time. But Chuvalo's brand of that does not offend me one iota.raylawpc wrote:I wouldn't give a month's salary . . . but it would be interesting to see Klompton tell Chuvalo face-to-face that George is a "legend in his own mind" . . .Il Duce wrote:A Fantastic Read
