Stuie Hall world title defence v paul butler

Imo easiest option for Stuie squeezing in another voluntary defence against paul butler.
I think he will be far too big and pressure butler into midround stoppage. Be nice to see him make butler eat his disrespectful words
Looking forward to a big night in newcastle.

I fancy Butler big time in this one - if Hall is hoping for an easy, marking time defence then he has chosen the wrong opponent IMO.

Butler is getting over hyped by his promoter, hall beats him

That's fucked Hall then.
Michael Bentt aka John Mccririck.

Butler may have too much ability for Hall, he punches hard too, Hall's size might be his biggest asset though, for me Butler, unless he is roughed up by Hall.

The one who should be fighting Hall for the world title is Haskins, he has beaten almost everyone in this country, he deserves it more.

Maybe so, but much rather see Hall/Butler than Hall/haskins and this is a voluntary defence.

+1

But I think Hall v Butler is a good fight especially in Newcastle.

Butler for me. The boy is flying at the moment. Has recent 12 round experience, and can bang a bit. Hall is probably physically the stronger man, but I think Butler has the skills to negate that strength.

It will be a good fight, that's for sure.

Was kinda obvious the fight was going to happen. It's a better match up than Ward-Hall at least.

I think Hall will be too big and strong here. Butlers been impressive but Halls got the big fight experience.

I strongly fancy Butler in this one,he,s one of my favs for the next big thing to come out of Britain,he seems to have it all, although i would have preferred him to have stayed down at Super Fly and win a title there,Lee Haskins surely has to be the next challenger but will the IBF allow another Englishman challenge for the belt after already 2 previous? probably

Like what Ashley Sexton done, and Hall is MUCH stronger then Sexton................

IMO Butler ain't beat anyone yet, the best person Butler has fought is Sexton and he didn't get it all his own way. Najah Ali was a great result but he didn't have any notice. John Donnelly was also a very good result, Miguel Gonzalez 17-0 But never fought any one with a decent record... Hall wins this for me..

Butler either on points or late stoppage from the body shots. He's too quick for Hall and the strength won't play a big factor, Butler was a big super flyweight and he'll be able to outbox Hall whether on the front or back foot, can only really see one winner here.

I wish Butler had stayed at 115.

If a world title shot comes along, then you have to take it, certainly when it is winnable, Butler's weight at world level is very tough.

Going by boxrec records, there are three British fighters in the top FIFTY of Bantamweight but amazingly Britain, actually just North England has now turned out the last four world title challengers at the weight with the IBF. How amazing :OhYes:

What a load of trash this really is. A world title has not often been cheapened so much as this and is partly why boxing is become such a marginal sport.

I used to literally live and breath this sport - buy the mags, go to fights, talk about it constantly, buy books, study the old timers etc and now I watch occasionally and post on a forum seldom as the sport is a joke and Stuart Hall being a "world" champion was bad enough to try and stomach but now the clowns he is defending against are making a mockery of it.

These guys should be fighting for regional English titles for gods sake!!!!

I know what you mean. On the one hand you think all those great fights in the past-minter/finnegan finnegan/frankham stracey/green etc etc often not even for british titles-think how many IBF or WBO title defences John conteh would have made? but on the other hand it does give many more fighters the chance to make good money out of what is a brutal and unforgiving business.

Not actually been in a ring then have you, those that havant stepped between the ropes do not have the right to belittle those that have.

This has again probably been made for the wrong reasons. but not because Butler is an easy option

Butler isn't ready for a world title (unless the person holding that title happens to be Stuart Hall)

Butlers getting a shot, because sooner or later Hall will have to fight a decent opponent, someone at or close to world level and he is going to lose that belt. So he is as well taking as many domestic paydays that he possibly can. Fighting Ward, Butler or even Haskins is going to generate more interest and earn him more money, than defending it against a 10-15 ranked foreign opponent that no-one here has heard of.

if he does manage to get through this one, i can see him going after a unification with McDonnell if he picks up the WBA title, what a high profile fight and payday that would be for a fighter at Halls level? an all British world title unification clash?

But if i'm honest i don't see him beating Butler

Anyone who holds that opinion should really stay away from internet boxing forums!
