Oscar Dela Hoya illegal hand wraps through career

Oscar Dela Hoya used illegal hand wraps throughout his career, including thumb protection, Freddie Roach knew this when he worked with him, but objected to it when he worked against him. How many top fighters use unfair means to gain an advantage in fights ?

It's not a PED if you inject it into your hands!

There were loud whispers that drug use (PED's) was rife in the wild card at one time as well and Roach wasn't overly concerned.

Here are the videos, Oscar Dela Hoya used illegal tape for hands used to wrap boxes, it forms a harder layer, then they roll it between the fingers/knuckles for extra knuckle points, it can cause cuts to the opponent and forms a more solid base..

Freddie Roach knew this, when he was his trainer, so when Pacman fought Dela Hoya, Freddie Roach objected to it, so they had to change the wrapping procedure, not change the material, funny enough, it meant cutting down on the thickness of the rolled tape, shocking really, if it illegal tape, then it should not be used at all, reminds me of the Roy Jones jr PED scandal, swept under the carpet, because he was a big star.

Justin Fortune , long time Pac and Wild card "conditioning" coach got busted for steroids - he was actually boxing on them:-

Roach said one of his former fighters, Justin Fortune, was known to have used PEDs and James Toney twice tested positive for steroids, once when he was working with Roach.

“I won’t say I didn’t know,” said Roach, referring to Toney. “I never asked him, though. I never had a conversation. I could see his body structure had signs, his traps and stuff. He was either lifting a lot of weight or he was on (something).

“… I think I had one other fighter on steroids also, Justin Fortune. … I know he’d been there before.”

Roach repeated for the umpteenth time, however, that Pacquiao is clean. He said he talked to Pacquiao after unsubstantiated allegations by Floyd Mayweather Sr. and others became public.

“I said, ‘Manny, do you know what steroids are?’” Roach said. “He knows so little about steroids. He knows less than I do.

- A very convenient excuse in my opinion.

Funny how he admits things when fighters have left him, but not when he is training them, Dela Hoya, Fortune, Toney, now with Pacquiao he denies it and what about Chavez Jr, if he is not on PED's he definately is taking illegal weight loss products.
