Director Danny Boyle drops in for a round on the pads

Oscar winning director Danny Boyle today took part in a charity world record attempt completing a round on the pads with boxing coach Bradley Walsh at the Holyrood Boxing Club in Edinburgh. Bradley is attempting to set a world record of 24 hours on the pads to raise money for Edinburgh children's charity's.

3 minute rounds with 1 minute breaks. Needs time to eat/piss etc.
The writer Irvine Welsh dropped in for a round as well. Both really nice guys.

Bradley was featured in an episode of one of those Danny Dyer 'hard b@stard' documentaries wasn't he?
Featured him training at the Holyrood gym

its great for danny boyle to drop in - and he should do well on the pads as we've seen what a tough nut he is on eastenders

I don't know if any of you have read Glue by Irvine Welsh but I thought he nailed the character of the stern Scottish boxer perfectly. And the training as well, describing the hill sprints etc. Its a book far superior to trainspotting IMO.

and counting, think it could be about £25,000 just now. Hard to gauge as about £10,000 is offline on sponsor forms etc
