What are the chances of Ricky Hatton having a major fight by the end of 2004 (Remember Ricky saying 2004 was going to be his year) and picking up a WBO,WBA,WBC or IBF belt.
I believe Paul Spadafora may be drafted in for a October clash and if this happens that don't look good for getting another big fight in by the end of the year (unless Judah drops the WBO belt and this fight with Spadafora turns into a WBO title fight)
I would love to see Ricky fight for a big title but some how Mitchell (IBF), Gatti (WBC), Harris (WBA), Tszyu (recognised best in division) just don't seem to be happening and i'd be very suprised if these fights are made in 2004?

I would actually be more upset if it is Hatton vs Sparaforda in October than I am for this one. I was led to believe (by ALL parties) that 2004 will be Hatton's year. I think 2003 was a lot more productive if Sparaforda will be his main fight.

I believe the only chance Hatton has of getting a world title fight is against Harries. I still think Mayweather is being lined up for Gatti, I can't see Mitchell being considered again (and if Tszyu recovers, Mitchell will have to fight him). Of course, there is the chance of the WBO title (if Cotto does sign to fight Harries). I don't know if Sports Network will trust Kelson Pinto again, I doubt it though.

So, apart from Harries, who seems game enough to take on all comers anywhere, I can't see anyone major before the year is out. Which will make me p*ssed off.

Spad was an opponent that was beingh touted for the pinto fight I was more than happy when pinto was announced so that says it all , then he didnt show now we got some argentinian who has fought no-one of note being fed as the sacrifical lamb for thousands at the MEN. From what Im hearing tho I doubt it will be sold out.

God forbid he picks up the WBO title, if he does it will be Calzaghe mark 2. He will be stuck defending against a bunch of no name WBO number 1 contenders for years while the real fighters battle it out for the real belts.

i've got a feeling hatton v spaddy will be for the wbo title hope i'm wrong though.
