Maccarinelli in training

Enzo Maccarinelli will make the fourth defence of his WBU cruiserweight title in July.
The big-punching 23-year-old from Swansea has secured a 3 July date at the Newport Centre.

He returned to training this month after a lay-off following his exciting eight-round win over Garry Delaney in Cardiff in February.

That was the first time he had been taken beyond four rounds in his explosive career

He's going to have to step up his level of comp now that Haye is making progress. Arthur Williams might have been better than anyone Enzo's faced yet.

That 40 year old man not long ago was beating top cruiser O'Neil Bell on points and then got stopped late.

Well it proves Williams isnt totally shot.

its still freakin impressive to dismantle someone of that calibre in only your tenth fight.

Come on mate if he was winning against O'Neill Bell, a top cruiser in the prime of his life, before getting stopped, then he is hardly shot, I remember reading the fight reports on maxboxing, and according to Doug and Thomas, williams gave an excellent account of himself, bell was really struggling.

That was 18 mths ago. An old fighter can age quickly.

Saying that I don't think he was shot. A few shots did come Haye's way. The fight said more about David Haye's ability than it did Williams'.

J, I was arguing with southpaw not you.

Yeah, I don't think he was shot either, I think Haye just forced him into a negative mindset by thumping him shitless in the 1st round, Williams obviously felt the sting of those shots and thought discretion was the better part of valour.
