Some of that just sounds like Calzaghe a few years ago when he says "Franks promised me the big fights". I find it very hard to believe, its now or never for Ricky, he's at his peak and he's wasting it fighting the Pederson's and Vilches of this world, even Spadafora is a step down I think. Its a fight that leads to no-where.

Hogwash.
He's just making the right noises. Like Calzaghe does.
Even Takaloo And Gomez have 'called out' the big guns.
Typical Sputz Network bluster.
Rikkky H can net a couple of million a year fighting virtual no marks for at least the next two years.
Fighters who won't burst the bubble. Or indeed the bloodbanks around his eyes and cheeks.

sorry deadpan and maddawg, this time i think he means it.
`he who cant be mentioned on this forum until he fights someone who can fight back` imo left a few veiled threats to his management and left `he who promotes he who cant be mentioned on this forum until he fights someone decent` in no doubt that if `he who promotes he who cant be mentioned on this forum until he fights someone decent` cant get the big fights that `he who cant be mentioned on this forum until he fights someone decent` wants, `he who cant be mentioned on this forum until he fights someone decent`will find someone who will get him those fights.
thats my interpretation of what was said.
quite clear, really.
oops, nearly forgot, this is all alledged.

One thing I did notice about Cotto, is that he is a fighter who very much likes to fight at his own pace, however I have to admit that is about his only weakness. I certainly don't think Cotto would blow Hatton away, nor vice versa.

Sorry mate, it was a good interview and the questions were fine.. its the subject matter that sucks. Ricky Hatton.
Is it just me, or can one almost guess Ricky's answers without reading his reply?

Good interview.
I cant beleive that Hatton doesnt know when his contract with Warren expires.
Can you?

I am beginning to doubt what Hatton says these days.
I used to think it was a case of Warren being very cauitous on his behalf, but ultimately, it comes down to a fighters desire to make the big fights happen, you cannot attribute everything to management, because management are also there to represent their client, the fighter, and their wishes.
I fear that the succulent gravy train Hatton is riding, making a fat wodge of cash, fighting and training at home, living near his family, familiar surroundings, home support every time he fights, basically being in his comfort zone, is robbing him of his hunger and desire.
I am ready to be proven wrong, because I still believe Hatton is capable of going beyond his current level of accomplishments, but until I see evidence of that move, I remain skeptical about whether it will ever happen or not.

I think Hatton has missed the boat when it come's to winning a proper World Title at Light Welterweight.
He should have been put in against Kosta Zoo in late 2002 to see whether he'd sink or swim. Even a worthy defeat would have made him a stronger and more experienced fighter. A defeat now could almost be too much to come back from, especially if it's from a unknown quantity.
If a fighter is good enough, than you goto give them their moment. Holding them back when they're hot can do more damage as alot of boxing is psychological.
Actually, I think Hatton peaked a year ago and is looking less like the exiting prospect I first saw years ago. He look's slower and not as hungary.
Plus the fact that guys like Miguel Cotto and to a lesser extent Francisco Bojado have stolen his thunder as the hot prospects of the division.
The final nail in the coffin is the introduction of perhap's the most talented boxer in the world at the moment, Floyd Mayweather!
The only thing that could save Hatton at this stage would be to get away from that BLOOD SUCKING VAMPIRE 'allegedly' before all his lifeforce is sucked completely outta him.
