I'm pretty sure Murat isn't a former world champion and I'm certain he was never an elite fighter.

He doesn't seem like a very good opponent. Murat stopped this bloke in two rounds. Hearn's talking rubbish.

Don't know what to make of it.

The single good win on his record Braithwaite who from the look of it was well past his best at the time.

I won't be too critical as its his first fight in at a much bigger weight 8 months after getting destroyed last time out.

I think Bellew is right when he says Cleverly doesnt really wanna fight.

I think that this fight will just be to get Cleverly back in the ring and build confidence, his 4 losses have all came by KO so Cleverly should be able to get him out of there too! This will get rid of some demons he will have from the Kovalov disaster and let him try work on things he will have been working on in the gym like defence!!

At Cruiserweight there is always the chance if you get hit then it's lights out!! and if Cleverly doesn't want it anymore this could be exposed even against this calibre of opponent.

Horrible fight but could tell us a lot about Cleverly

Give it a rest hearn. This is nothing more than a comeback/confidence builder fight, don't try big up the opponent to make him something hes not becuase if we are honest this guy would probs get beat off a couple of domestic cruisers. On another note bellow certainly has a much tought cruiser debut.

Whilst that's true he was also having pish fights as champion prior to the Kovalev fight. He's used up his free passes in my eyes.

He never had any in in GOmez's. He received a load though when he signed for Eddie. His 8 month ring absence has also been upgraded to a year.

As somebody else suggested I really don't think Cleverley wants to fight and Hearn should just call a spade a spade and say its a softer fight to introduce him to the weight class/ long lay off..nobody with any sense would have a real problem with that.

Cleverly looks quite dashing in that pic on the Boxrec home page. Maybe he should pursue modelling.

This is an ok bout considering Cleverly hasn't won a fight in over a year.

Hopefully he's back fairly sharpish after this. September at the latest. And against someone half decent.

The opponent is about the same level as Cleverly's opponents prior to Kovalev.

Cleverly moving up to cruiserweight seems like excuse making for his loss to Kovalev.

Despite Cleverly's degree and name, he doesn't seem overly bright.

His career seems like it's coming to an end, when there is no real reason why it should. He seems to have lost his heart.

Clev insisted that when he signed, a deal was struck whereby he received 2 passes from me.

Nathan and Eddie eventually settled on one pass.

he should just do what Enzo did and get on the road for some paydays. Or just fight Enzo.

Looks like a sensible opponent to me. Someone who has fought down at light heavy, who can be stopped but at the same time has a decentish looking record.

Should be a nice confidence builder for a guy coming off the back of a pretty savage first loss in his new weight division.

I think he was bemoaning my comment that Cleverly should go on the road. I just meant it's fine to 'build him back up gradually', but there's no reason not to take fights on the road if he wants to make a living since there's nothing really to 'protect' any more...

And if Cleverly does not fight anyone decent soon at Cruiser that can give him a decent test at the weight, it makes the pick for this fight even easier.

To be harsh, I don't think Cleverly has any real chance of getting a World title again, especially at cruiser. He did bare minimum in the light heavy division when he got gifted the WBO belt from Brahmer. The LH division has had a shake up since and looks like a division with some real matches to be made, politics aside.

For Cleverly to get in there and win against the likes of Huck, Lebedev etc. just looks impossible and nothing but a string of KO losses for him. Of course, that won't stop the matches being made.

Seems after all the talk is done, the only possible big money spinner left for both parties will probably be, Cleverly v Bellew II... We never saw that one coming! I know who I'd favour right now in that one as well.
