Brook to miss out again??

Seen some stuff on twitter that they are trying to make a unification fight between Porter and Thurman, How would this work as Thurman only holds an interim title. Surely Brook is gonna get the fight but of course a unification fight takes priority. Boxing politics are insane.

I hope Brook ignores it all and keeps training hard; I thought his shot was nailed down and Porter would get stripped if he didn't face Brook next?

Its professional boxing. The game is a circus and money will ALWAYS trump morality

Thurman is a lot more deserving than Brook. Porter-Thurman is also a much better fight. I'm sure Brook would rather laze back in Sheffield anyway, and babble on some more about an Amir Khan fight.

Well if Collazo end's up taking Khan out i'm sure there's more likelihood of Brook's big payday and 'dream' happening.

Who was saying that mate? I'm sure Hearn has it in writing anyway that the fight has to happen.

They'll have to get something sorted quick as it'll be July soon- and that's the traditional time for the annual Carson Jones final eliminator

It's a rivalry only matched in the modern game by Ward vs Gatti, Marquez vs Vazquez and Julius Long vs Karriem Respress

Porter must take on Brook before July 19 or vacate the belt. Can't see Brook taking "step aside money" now he's got though 27 final eliminators. Could be a dangerous fight though for Brook I hope he's training like a man possessed.

I can see him taking the money.

that'll be the story coming out of sheffield whatever happens
(well, until they have to explain away a sub-par peformance in which case it may be subject to some qualification)

Brook takes step aside money and gets a spot on the undercard of Porter vs Thurman.
Hearn makes the excuse for this as being something like: "To build up Brook's American/international profile" & "now Brook gets a shot at two belts".
The winner of Porter vs Thurman fights Mayweather and vacates the IBF title.
Brook vs Dan Ion for the vacant IBF world title.
Everyone wins.

I hope he doesn't I don't think he has any more credibility to lose but it would be a damn shame now he's got himself into the mandatory position. Fast Car Eddie wants to stage the fight in the UK but I can't see Schaefer or Golden Boy travelling to the UK to defend in Kell's back yard.
Porter doesn't pull in the numbers though stateside and Brook isn't a big enough name over there.

I can see Eddie waiting to see the result of Khan-Collazo and if khan loses, taking the step aside money and fighting Khan in the uk.

That's a pretty realistic scenario.

Ok, I read more than I post on here but I have a question.
Why does Kell Brook get such a hard time on these boards? To me he looks the part and deserves his shot. He has beaten everyone put in front of him fairly convincingly and improves all the time. He had to pull out of a couple of fights through injury which happens to everyone, especially when going for your biggest fight.
I just don't understand the critism. Anyone care to elaborate?

He's boring and we're sick of him.

The opposition has been pretty dire that's why. Kell clearly has talent and that's the annoying part about it. You have to remember that this is a guy that turned pro in 2004 and he still hasnt fought a legitimate world class fighter. I understand the injuries in regards to the Alexander fight/s but still over the time frame he's been a pro it still isnt good enough. Look at his cv compared to Khans in terms of names faced and Khan is actually a little younger than Kell is aswell.

If he watched porter last fight I can see brook snapping golden boys hand off for step aside money

Whenever someone has to wheel out this cumbersome old cliche to defend a fighter, it's a given that the fighter has been protected.

Why does Brook bother you so much?
