He's pretty good and I think an improved fighter (didn't he have very limited amateur experience and is essentially learning as a pro?). He was a bit frustrating to watch against Bursak, because it seemed like it was a fight he could've have definitely won had he not taken his foot off the gas.

I heard he should of got the decision against bursak?

Opinions were mixed. I don't think it was a poor decision, but I also think that Blackwell could've put it beyond question if he hadn't eased off so much.

Nick learned the trade boxing white collar at a young age having 19 fights iirc. He could have beat Bursak no doubt if he would have just been a bit busier and fought a little better inside but I had Bursak winning by 2 rounds. He's a very tough lad and is still young enough to reach his full potential as he has always had quality sparring with the likes of Froch and Macklin to name a few requesting his services. He's a very likeable lad too.

I've said since the Murray fight that with the right backing Blackwell could go a long way.

But he hasn't & he won't.

I hope he has a fantastic life though.

The white collar experience is more or less useless. I went to one the other night and honestly don't know where they find the opponents. It's as if they were literally dragged in off the streets.

I have said it on here many times Nick is a highly under rated fighter,he has had to do things the hard way and in doing so has had to take some risks in order to learn, as was previously mentioned he had a very short stint on the unlicenced circuit as a 16 year old boy.

Taking on Murray who was on the fringe of a World title fight at a time when most prospects are facing journeymen, making Saunders work hard enough that they dont seem to want to chance a rematch opting for a euro shot instead (Saunders has stated that he wants the Londsdale for keeps and as Blackwell has been manditory since December if they really thought it would be a given they would have taken it) Then taking on and in many peoples opinions beating Bursak.

Nick is improving fight by fight and has the beating of O'kane, Ryder,Etches, Butler and Aaron and Eubank JR wants no part so provided the politics doesnt get in the way Blackwell ends 2014 as British Champ that will likely have either bunny or fast car interested meaning he will get the opportunities he deserves

He's a very good boxer and could do with having a better set up/sponsorship; I think he'd do well. He's the best win on martin Murrays record and Murray is a top level boxer.

I think it's common knowledge now but Nick was fighting with a rib injury sustained by Paul Smith too.

Nick took the Bursak fight at quite late notice and wasnt enough time for a half decent training camp. Saying that the fight should of been stopped in the 4th round - WBA rules state that if you turn your back on your opponent its classed as a knockdown and Bursak turned his back twice after the knockdown not to mention the amount of unanswered shots Bursak took - anywhere else it would of been stopped. Has anyone noticed the state of Bursaks face after compared to Blackwells.
Bursak quoted that Blackwell was the best fighter he had ever been in with.
Heard that blackwell is on the road sparring at World level Froch and Macklin and what Ive heard is that he is strong as an ox

The problem is Blackwell is one of those that is a threat to anyone and its certainly a big risk for anyone to box him. They seem to offer Blackwell fights at late notice to get the upper hand with him. I know they tried getting a rematch with Bursak but Bursaks team didnt want it - apparently the whole of the arena in the Ukraine thought Blackwell had won. If you watch the fight Blackwell doesnt actually take many shots, all on the arms and the gloves but Bursak got nailled time and time again which you can see by the state of his face compared to Blackwells. On a good honest clean shot scoring fight Blackwell would of won that.
If you look at the Billy Joe Saunders fight its the same thing - Blackwell didnt take many clean shots.
Blackwell is still only 23 so imagine what hes going to be like in a couple of years when hes got his man strength.
A good promoter needs to sign the kid - he will make it

Also Eubank Jr clearly ducked him last year too,
