why is there no talk of this boy as a contender to the heavyweight crown. You get all this talk on Wilder, Fury and Pulev but i never hear Ruiz's name in the same conversation. Im not saying he would beat Klitschko or even Pulev but Wilder or Fury i believe would be real 50/50 fights. Hes now 21-0 with 15 kos and he is still not getting alot of exposure which i think is weird for a heayweight with that record

He seems like a good prospect, and in many ways it is good he is under the radar a bit as it means he can develop away from the spotlight. The only thing I would question is the amount of weight he carries for his height. He turmed pro at 300Lbs and is fighting around 250-260 lbs so not sure about his training regime.

Yeah its got to be a worry when he starts fighting the better boys in the division how the weight affects him later on in fights

wouldnt say he was getting beat but he was getting caught far to much in the first 2 rounds. Had a really good 3rd and Hamer must not of wanted to know after that, unless he was injured

Ruiz is a very talented heavyweight, and despite his appearance, is rather fast of feet and quick of hands. The only problem with him, however, is there seems to be no sense of promotion or direction with the man--- which is a shame, considering Arum is his promoter. I have interviewed Ruiz once, and he does give off the air of being a humble, quiet and reluctant man in terms of generating any controversy or slander against his opponents. I imagine that is the main reason why he is seldom ever talked about or heard about in the press. Gifted as he is, he just isn't a draw.

Pretty much. It wasn't a case of Hamer just giving up for no clear reason; he got his ass kicked in the third.

Ruiz is pretty good. I don't see him being in the top tier in the division, and his defensive shortcomings were obvious against Hamer, but he's got a pretty solid mix of speed and power and is much tougher than his baby-faced appearance suggests.

No one is discussing him because he is morbidly obese and has defeated nobody of note.
