Froch Vs. Groves II PPV price increase

Just watched an advert for the SKY PPV. SKY are charging £16.95 for the event. 13% price increase on the usual PPV price. Are SKY taking the piss or do people feel this is still reasonable value? Compared to American PPV prices it's a bargain however it seems a little costly to me.

Of course it really is that simple. Nobody is being forced to buy it. It's just a little irritating after Eddie Hearn himself confirmed on Twitter back in March that the PPV price for Froch Vs. Groves II would not be increased and would remain the same.

What has Sky's pricing got to do with Hearn ?
Two options buy or don't buy. I'm happy with that.

Eddie confirmed in March that there would be no change in the PPV price and it had been contracted with SKY. So was Eddie just lying? Surely SKY couldn't then increase the price without amending the contract with Eddie / Matchroom? That would suggest Eddie would have a say about the price going up to £16.95.

Agree with what people are saying. If you don't like it, don't buy.

A big fight like this would be 50-60 dollars in America, if people don't want to pay they know where to go to view it.

Exactly. The fight is on the radio or can be followed via the SKY Boxing Twitter feed. Of course there will be plenty of streams on the night plus it'll turn up fairly quickly on the usual boxing and sports torrent sites. It will also be shown on SKY Sports 6 days later. Plenty of options.

I usually invite 4 friends and charge them £3 each, so now i'm in a quandary - do I raise the price for each by 50p, invite a 5th person for £2 but only give them a hard chair with an angled view or reduce the invites to 3 with a price hike to £4.25 but with the promise of more space and a bigger portion of the wife's Chilli?

I hate Eddie and Sky for forcing this on me.

Thanks for that :TU: I don't mind paying the allegedly as it's fantastic value for a boxing fan but I also have Sky Sports and the coverage is dire.

Isn't it normally 16.95 if you buy on fight night but 14.95 if it's bought before? I never really pay attention to the price as I do it through virgin media and it just takes a couple of clicks on thw wazza

I never pay attention to the price because I'm an areshole with no other hobbies or interests and I'm sad and daft enough to get riled up about it for months beforehand. God; I hate myself - an extra £2 is neither here nor there but they could have cut the price by £2 to thank us for our continued support of the sport through a recession - I imagine it crossed their mind though.

I know a price cut was on tbeir mind but we have to remember that its our fault for ppv's and therefore price increases due to our ridiculous demands for the best fighters to fight each other.

we should just be happy to see fighters walk in and walk out of the ring with an mc a la chunky degale

I guess it's just a shame that there is absolutley no way what so ever to watch the fight other than on ppv or live at the venue. :yay: lol, just being cynical!

The issue I've had in the past (seriously) is poor quality ppv shows. Friends can't be arsed to split it.
