It seems to me that Gomez is getting a far ruffer ride than Alex Arthur, They seem to bring in shit for Arthur and other fighters in the camp, if your not a blue eyed boy do you get tougher fights?, Were does Gomez go if he beats this guy Sat night onto another hard fight for the much credited WBU title, IMO he should have kept the British title which most boxing fans would agree is worth far more than a the WBU title.

yes the british title is better than the WBU, but gomez has cleared out the british divison and will now go for a world title belt, if he gets beat he can always fight Docherty and Arthur again.

TRUE REAL DEAL! Think Mike has a renewed hunger he relly seems pumped up these days, think he will fall short at the higher level mind but Juuko is a decent scalp to have, good luck to him. Credit where credit is due we moan enough when our hometown boys get fed lesser quality opponents so I dont have an argument with Gomez crancking it up, its good to see.

Good luck to him. From what I've read he's been a tearaway in the past, but he's a crowd-pleaser and the Arthur victory was a great turnaround in his career. I hope he keeps it going because it sounds as though he's not had it easy in his life.

Apparantly Gomez is looking good in training and has knocked out Silence Saheed when sparring.

Michael Gomez is calling out the big names. Does anyone seriously think that Warren will get him a fight with Coralles, Morales, Chavez or any of the other top guys.

I don't. if Warren was he would certainly have done it with Hatton by now.

Gomez won the title from a featherweight, Ben Odamattey, and defends against a man who probably hasn't made 130 in years and whose best fighting days are long gone. I'd like to believe Juuko can be competitive, but I doubt it. I also hear John "The Beast" Mugabi is being flown over to be in Juuko's corner. This reminds me of the Danny Williams-Augustin N'Gou farce when they had Matt Skelton sitting at ringside for sheer embellishment. They knew the fight was going to be naff so had to spice it up somehow.

I'm surprised that so many people think this will be a tough fight for Gomez.... a couple of years ago yes, but now really Jukko is shot from what I've seen of him in his last few fights... in fact he's one of those 'shot' fighters that you worry about as he still has the heart and good enough chin to hang in there and basically take a beating.... but the speed, reflexes and offense is more or less gone totally.... sad.

why should alex arthur get a rematch at present? One he is injured secondly he got mugged by gomez last time and then "fought" kizza which was a complete joke. If whinging and whining gets you a rematch then he could be challenging for world honours but he has shown nothing to me that Gomez should give him a shot, go mike onto bigger and better things, I like gomez, heart on sleeve type fella by all accounts.I really hope arthur fights docherty and gets slapped all round the ring, Im bored of listening to him his excuses and constant whining.

Arther is full of shit IMO he gives it the big i am but he aint that good, All that BS about freddie roach not coming over was bo**ocks, as Roach said it was in BN a few weeks ago, Arthur will struggle to get the buzz back, if he had to go to Manchester to fight he would shit it, Gomez would beat him every day of the week, I wonder why he thinks he needs to big himself up is it because he's inept in the ring?, or does he think he's better than he is?

If Ian Darke was commentating he'd tell it like it is, instead, we've got Adam Smith who will constantly refer to the fact that Cotto fought Juuko. It wouldn't surprise me if they said Juuko gave him trouble.

The reason being that in the gym all the cute moves and Boxing skills and savy seemed to come so easy and nautral to The Beast, were'as Lloyd claimed he had to practice his moves over and over again to get them right.

As they were both Duff fighters I pressume they often trained in the same gym.

I think it will be a tough fight for Gomez - Jukko will come to win and Gomez is going to have his woork cut out for him. Gomez will win the fight on points IMO.

Mugabi spent a lot of time in Florida, whereas Lloyd was based largely in London. Mugabi had a formidable reputation in American gyms.

credit to the above gentlemen who said juuko was passed it poor bloke didnt know what he was doing by the looks of it. Credit to Gomez though I love the way he gets wound up and is so passionate and wired before he goes out there. You can only beat what is in front of you. But as I said good call from those who said Juuko had seen much better days.
