I'm not sure if this has been posted before, this is on David Haye's website.


"I obviously want to give all my fans a quick update concerning my shoulder. Since the operation, it's taken 3 solid months before i was able to actually use it for everyday things like brushing teeth and picking things up. I've had now around 5 months of rehabilitation, and the effects of such a program means, I have full range of movement, and there are not many everyday things I can't do perfectly. Obviously punching is not a "everyday thing" but Im not far away from doing some very light shadow boxing to test it ever so gently.

I now have 6 pins holding my shoulder together, after full reconstructive surgery. Scars have healed, and I'm feeling positive. I've really cleaned up my eating habits, and have cut out all animal products to really give my body the best chance to heal.

No decisions have been made with regards my future as a professional boxer. But I'm in the gym every day, religiously doing the programme set out by my Physio. I've yet to work on the pads with Adam Booth or throw any “Hayemakers”, but I don't feel a million miles away"

The Key question after 3 years is how is the toe doing?

If he wants to give himself every chance, cutting out animal products is questionable to say the least. No doubt somebody he has paid a lot of money has given him that advice - so it must be right, right? I don't think so.

You think Haye faked having surgery?

I don't think he faked surgery, I had this debate with a mate and his response was that Haye was quick to show his swollen pinky off after the Klit fight and the nick over his eye before the first Fury cancellation, yet no photos of his arm which presumably has a scar. Maybe to shut all the doubters up he should just post a pic of the shoulder, although I guess people when then say he photo-shopped any scars, lol.

Shut the fornicate up, train, and get in the ring. Nobody gives a fornicate anymore about Haye. He needs to re-prove himself at HW for me.

No way on earth Haye is worried about Fury, and all this talk about fake this or scared that is nonsense This is a guy who has competed at top level since he was a kid. Training at this level causes injuries especially as they get older, many of them career ending.

He got injured, it happens. It is not a mystery, a cover up or anything else.

I am not a Haye fan but I would think Tyson fury would be someone he definitely is not running scared of. Easiest few million quid he could make IMO

True but he could show x-rays which would show the metal pins holding his shoulder together.

Personally I don't doubt he had an injury, doesn't need to prove anything to me, and he wouldn't be scared of Fury who hasn't really done anything to justify being scared of.

After so many pull outs how many would buy tickets?

OK tickets are refundable (only if the show is cancelled), but hotels often are not! Lots came back disappointed from the Wladamir "effort" in Germany, quite a few lost money on hotels after the Fury debacle too.

Committing to spend 150-300 notes on a decent ticket, then 200 odd quid on a hotel is a lot of money to us mere mortals.

Id be amazed if he hadn't had surgery. Could've used a much less traceable excuse!

I initially thought he might of faked it but as time has gone on and how long he's been out of the ring for I dont think he is faking it.

Haye coming back to boxing wouldn't be a bad thing! he markets well and usually Wlad aside provides an entertaining fight. Albeit oppositionis sometimes questionable

Mormeck seven years ago was his last good fight. Chisora wasn't bad.

Shoulders are some of the worst injuries that a boxer can sustain.

Some get by with surgery, I think Pascal was one - then others like Jeff Lacy aren't so lucky.

He completely lost his namesake lefthook afterwards and began almost pushing his punches that shooting them.

Didn't rotator cuff injuries fvck Buddy McGirt up, back in the day?

I know he fought on forever after surgery but never looked the same, imo...

what i will say is that over the last 10 years there have been massive improvements in the techniques of shoulder surgery, very rarely now do shoulders have to be opened up. when i started in the 80s there were hideous operations for rotator cuff repairs for recurrent shoulder dislocations etc. google 'putti platt' images and you will see what i mean.
