I'm a fan of Kevin's and like his style but he's gonna get stopped. You watch. Not sure what the odds are on Maduma but if they're somewhat decent, might be worth a flutter.

Just seen Mitchell on Sky Sports News and he looks to have a cut on the bridge of his nose? Can't see how that will be sorted by Saturday.

I think James DeGale is in a tough one. While Gonzalez looked shocking early on against Oosthuizen he came right back into it late and I think that experience will stand him in good stead. You've clearly seen a bit of Maduma. So I wouldn't be surprised if both Mitchell and DeGale end up losing at the weekend.

Obviously I hope I am wrong.

I've been watching some footage of him on youtube. He's quite the thinker in the ring. Quite like Mitchell to an extent but he also has very fast hands when he lets them go in combination.

Gonzalez would have to dominate the fight to get the decision at Wembley though given what's at stake. I see Degale winning on points.

Yeah I could possibly see Gonzalez getting jobbed on the scorecards.

With fans like you who needs enemy's lol
Is Maduma that good?? or are you just writing off Kev's chance's based on his short comings in previous fights and the fact he likes a tear up.
Tony Simms is no mug and will have prepared him properly if the right Kevin turns up surely he has a shot he is a good fighter.
That's a big thread title mate I hope Mitchell has you apologising on here Saturday.

What are the odds any road?

Lol im not saying it as an insult mate. It's more the case that Maduma is good but nobody has heard of him upto now! On top of that Mitchell's chin isnt the best at the top level when he has stepped up, bar Prescott but this guy is a better boxer than Prescott. Obviously I could be wrong but having watched Maduma I just have a feeling that's what is gonna happen.

Here's one of Maduma's fights. This is against a shit opponent so you have to take that into account but you can see the core fundamentals are there. Some might disagree though :TU: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mopQkS8N1m0

Was that bill promoted by Allegedly? The crowd size seems to suggest it was ;;-)

That's his most recent fight.

Throws a lot of wide, slapping punches and can be a bit lazy at times, doesn't really set a fast pace or impose himself physically. Very muscly around the shoulders, but his legs look a bit thin in comparison, not seen anything to suggest there's anything wrong with his chin, but I would question his fitness, being that musclebound will eat up a lot of energy. I don't think he's good enough to outbox Mitchell and if he tries to up the workrate and outhustle him, I can see him fading down the stretch, all that, combined with him stepping into the unknown on the road, in what will certainly be a hostile atmosphere, Mitchell in 10 for me.

This is a very hard fight forkevin, IMO he struggles with. Speed and that lad has it, I hope he gets a lift from the crowd and does the job coz if they get on his back it's curtains

Yes, his chin is suspect at the best of times but it is complete garbage at the mystical "next level". Regardless of the fact he took a battering off the heavy-hitting Carl Johanneson before turning it around. Yes he got bashed up by Michael Katsidis following a complete farce of a training camp, therefore, we can conclude that his chin is bad. :shame:
Also there's no need to come out saying "X fighter is defo get knocked out at the weekend" it ain't right, in my opinion.
I reckon I'll check out the BN this week, sounds like this bill is actually going to be pretty decent with Degale and KMM on there too.

Bottom line is it is good that Mitchell is getting a decent opponent. I am not sure I would be so definite, as it is so difficult to say when you are looking at a video of a decent fighter against a not so decent one, It is easy to be deceived and there are also other variables such as how does the Canadian do when he has to travel?

I think Mitchell would have got the other guy out of there pretty quick as well, so not sure this is conclusive evidence that Mitchell is going to get chinned but it may tell us where he is in relation to his future.

Your man is around 15/8 for the win outright.
Think your looking around 7/2....4/1 for the ko when they grow the balls to make the call

It's a close close fight on paper. Boxrec has them only 2 places apart in their world rankings (Maduma 26 and Mitchell 28), they are the same age and have nearly the same height and reach too. Mitchell has definitely mixed in the better class, that's a gimme. Maduma looks ok from what I've seen of him but I've not seen him under any sort of pressure so it's easy to look good when the guy in front of you is there to take a pasting. If I had to bet on it I'd take Mitchell just because he is kind of proven at this level and should have too much class for Maduma who may not know to handle a guy who's is there to win.

I hope you're right when it comes to DeGale.

Not seen much of his opponent, so have no idea whether he's any real test. I think it's safe to say that DeGale can't switch off mid-fight like he has done in his last few though.

I have a feeling DeGale might nick this, but this is based on nothing more than the fact that he annoys me. And sports stars that annoy me tend to win.

I trust BoxRec ratings above the IBF. Maduma and Mitchell ranked 4 and 5 last time I looked.

I think Mitchell can control this fight with his jab going by the You Tube footage I've looked at.

Degale's fight is an IBF super-middle final eliminator. Gonzales is undefeated and will have Virgil Hunter in his corner. It doesn't sound like an easy fight by any means for Degale. Last time I saw him was on a C5 bill at the Bluewater and it wasn't a particulalry pretty affair.
