If you check out both boxers records, they are down to face each other. Although it looks very much like these 2 are set to meet, I havent heard anything from any sources. Also another thing I want to know is, is Keith Long really as short as 5'11".

Maloney said on bbc radio that long was nothing more than a punch bag, i would how he sells this fight.

Long would be a decent fight for AH but he doesn't deserve another title shot. Not on form anyway

I expect Skelton to use his strength to batter out a win against Long.

I think it will be an ugly fight with Skelton coming out the winner on points. He may even stop Long late on in the fight.

i remember skelton was being interviewed ringside at the williams-n'gou fight, and they mentioned keith long and i groaned in despair

how the hell is keith long eligible for any sort of title

Well, he did gave a good account of himself against Bahktov(actually had it even after 10 rounds I believe)

Bahtkov-Long was an ugly fight and I foresee a fight like Skelton-Francis.
At least Skelton stays busy

Skelton is supposed to be moving onwards and upwards so a fight with Long is a joke IMO.

It would be scrappy and pointless and would achieve nothing.

I strongly disagree with the first statement. Skelton is keeping busy and Long (behind Harrison and Williams) is the best challenger for the title. I think Long will give Skelton a harder fight than Sprott did.

Infact, I might just place a bet on Long. Long has gone 12 hard rounds vs Williams and has a decent dig and awkard, agressive style. I actually think it will be a bruising encounter.

Looking forward to it.

We are all intitled to opinionsmate but the fact is no matter what way you look at it Long is crap and Skelton is getting no younger.

He needs to progress and fight guys who are going to teach him something and test him.

What exactly can Long do for Skelton?

IMO nothing the fight will be scrappy and not disimilar to a bar room brawl.

What can Long do - Well for a kick off I believe he hits harder than Sprott, mentally tougher than Sprott, and less likely to allow Skelton to barge through him.

You say Long is crap, that is probably a fair comment, but I have yet to see anything from either Sprott or Skelton to suggest that they do not fit in the same category.

Skelton beat a poor champion in Sprott, who was very fortunate to even get a 2nd shot at Williams, let alone the decision in the 3rd. I believe Long would have started off favourite (against Sprott) when the pair were scheduled to meet over a year ago.

Most look forward and applauded Skelton for tackling Sprott, for me Long is a much tougher prospect all together.

Skelton is just keeping the momentum going which is wise at his age, Long is a perfectly good opponent, no more of a waste of time than Francis was for Audley.

Could be a right old mess though!

simple really, Skelton is bigger and more determined than Long, who is mentally tougher but not got as many skills as Sprott, who is physically weaker and less powerful than williams, who is mentally weaker than all of them......

All this thread proves beyond doubt, is that the British heavyweight scene is totally shite, but then, when hasn't it been.

Danny Williams has all the tools, but not the mental ones.
Long has no skills, is too small, lacks a punch, but tough as nails.
Skelton, big strong, old, limited.
Audley Big, nimble, talented, cautious, reticent, old.
Sprott Small and skilfull, mentally a jellyfish.

Has Long been definitely confirmed? I would find it a bit strange, given Skelton is only defending his Commonwealth title on June 5. Surely, Long would expect to challenge for the British title at the same time!
