Is she hoping to be bought by a US TV channel?! Just wondering what motivates her to do all this. I quite like her interviews though.

Be honest, if you were a boxer, would you prefer some 'geezer' or a piece of ass interviewing you?

She's quite clued up actually. She's not a straight up bimbo doing interviews. She does seem to know her boxing. Seems like a nice girl aswell. Wish her well.

I certainly wouldn't mind getting plumbed into her!

It's been embarrassing watch eddie hearn and Kugan drool over her these week. It's like she's some kind of celebrity but in reality she gets a very modest amount of views on YouTube.

Don't get me wrong she's not awful at interviewing but she's not that clued up. She was calling Froch 'frock' up until yesterday.

Sophie de stefano has been covering boxing over here for ages and never gets the kind of recognition phelps does presumably because she doesn't play on her beauty and doesn't seem fame hungry.

Anything that gets boxing more coverage is good for the game. If it takes a beautiful woman to do that then so be it. I think her knowledge of the game is pretty good personally.

Fair point. And don't get me wrong, she's putting in the work and offering a free service to fans. Good luck to her. I was just trying to point out how cringeworthy people have been around her.

That happens any time there's an attractive woman though. It doesnt matter what it is. You end up with a bunch of drooling men, kissing ass and offering their services free of charge lol

Totally agree with dbf that the male reaction is cringey but what do you expect in such a male dominated environment if a former model barges onto the scene?

I was at Westfields for an hour or so the other day for the Groves workout and spent a few minutes chatting to her like a cringey fornicate. She said she got into the Behind The Gloves stuff mainly because of Amir Khan. They shared a conditioner (Ruben Tubares) when he was in LA training for Peterson, one thing led to another and her youtube channel gradually started.

To be fair she was really cool with me and plenty of other randoms.

He's an Olympic Gold Medalist, British and European champion and is chief support in a final eliminator for the world title on the line in the main event, she should know who he is, especially if she's covering the event. It's her job, basic journalistic research would be to read up on the fighters on the show and watch a few of their fights if she's going to interview them and do a preview of the show.

Nice insight, and as I expected she isn't really into boxing that much. Taberes works with Haye too.

90% of boxing journalists fell into boxing or saw an opportunity there, most of them would rather be in other sports. Kugan would rather be doing football, I'm sure if you asked him about anything boxing related pre 2009 he wouldn't know much. Same with some of the Sky people, won't name names, but boxing found them they didn't find boxing.

But they all become 'experts' and act like part of clique, because covering boxing gives them some sort of man points.

Ed Robinson and Steve Bunce would have done anything to work in boxing, and pretty much have done everything in the sport between them, that's why they are two of the only peoples opinions I really listen too on TV.

Oh and last thing that annoys me about a lot of these internet boxing video 'journalists't is that they always seem to bang on about how hard they work and that they are doing it for free. The doing it for free part is entirely their choice and the hard work bit, well I don't hear any of the print or trade press banging on about how hard they work.

Big events require long hours and hard work, its a given.

The last comment about her not knowing James Degale is factual. The bit about her knowing eff all is subjective and somewhat tongue in cheek. I was surprised she didn't know him when she is in the press section.

Yes she should know who he is but its his attitude and choice of promoter have held him back.

Yep it's all a bit of a cringe at times.

There is such a thing as merit though, so she shouldn't really be getting more time with the boxers than IFLTV in my opinion.
