It was a great fight with a great finish. I thought the ref made the right call in stopping the fight when he did.
Sitting down for a minute with a wet sponge on your head wouldn't of made any difference.
He was exhausted and out on his feet. Hope he gets the Vazquez fight now.

So do I. I always liked Mitchell (though I was cheering Ricky Burns win they fought).

Something tells me that Miguel Vazquez is a GoldenBoy fighter, so it's unlikely to happen in Britain.

It was a good stoppage win for Mitchell but I do wonder if the whole weight thing could cause problems

Vasquezs last fight was on a top rank card in Macau apparently it was incredibly boring.

Hearn should be able to get him over as he is not a big star

It was a good stoppage and I had money on Maduma. On the live footafe when the camera was behind his head I thought it was an early one as he was bouncing on his toes but the other angle showed he was done

I don't know anything about Vasquez.....is he the IBF champ? I believe Mitchell's fight last night was an IBF eliminator.

Has Mitchell still got it then because Burns seemed to take him out easily, I can't remember if there wasn't some reason for it like he'd had a bad camp or something...Been a bit of a fan of Mitchell over the years.

Vasquez would take Mitchell apart. He may not have much power but he is incredibly technically gifted, more so than anybody Kevin has faced including Burns.

Mitchell is a good fighter but is just not good enough to beat world class opponents, and i believe with more experience himself Maduma would have got the win.

BTW what is it with these Canadians and there conditioning? Pascal, Bute, Lemiuex, Maduma they all seem to overload on shots and blow out there arse after the first 6 rounds.

Steve Molitor must be the exception. I expected him to be pretty dominant but it didn't turn out that way. I thought Pascal had a pretty good engine no? Not a fighter I watch a lot but he seemed to do the 12 with Carl Froch no problem.

The Froch fight was the exception for Pascal. He notably fades in fights.
