I don't think there's much more between the 2 lads than that.

In years to come Carl Froch will thank the good lord he ever encountered George Groves. Short term damage to his popularity was done after the first fight, through no fault of his own, but in the rematch George worked so hard to attain he gave Carl the career defining fight he maybe lacked before. It certainly isn't his best win, that accolade falls to the Lucien Bute or the Arthur Abraham bouts, but this is the win that will ensure he is remembered in history, His "Lacy" or "Tszyu" moment.

I was rooting for Groves in both bouts, but I'm glad for Carl and can go back to supporting him against future opposition. Both men have titles in them in the future.

The ending to the fight didn't help the reaction.

The reaction at the end of the fight didn't help the rubbish talk, imo.

I'm not sure that Froch wouldn't have been "remembered". I think due to the size of the fight last night tho - and the closeness of the first one - Groves will be the name that is most synonymous with Froch when people look back.

Froch has many, many great wins now, it's getting a bit ridiculous. I'd kind of forgotten the Abraham win that looked so stupidly easy. The last gasp win over Taylor (was he losing on the cards??), the ding-dong battle he had with Pascal was a bit of a classic, from memory. The win against Brian Magee is good as Magee is no mug himself. There's been one or two fighters in there that can pack a punch as well.

I wonder how a fight with Kelly Pavlik might have gone if Froch had fought him - a similarly reckless-looking sort of a fighter....Pavlik fought Taylor twice, so weight-wise, they can't have been a million miles apart.

I saw Froch live once in Nottingham against a Russian called Tatevosyan, was very impressed at how he cut the ring down in about 2 strides.
