Would be a great fight for Dawson, Cant see him winning it unless he came in with relentless pressure to stop the quick hands of Trout.
However i doubt if this fight takes place anywhere anytime soon, Maybe never.

It is a real step up in class for Daniel, who age (36 years versus Trout's 28 years), and relative inactivity (6 fights in 4 years), will tell against him.

I don't give Dawson much of a chance here - Trout is world class, he virtually fought Canelo to a draw (I had Canelo winning by 1 point, the KD made the difference) in a fight where the Mexican had a lot of help from the judges. He got outboxed against a master boxer in Lara, but that's not going to happen with Dawson.

Of course, styles make fights, but Trout completely manhandled Frank LoPorto, who clearly beat Dawson. I see Trout winning via a mid to late rounds stoppage but hope Dawson can prove me wrong and go the distance, which is possible as Trout is fairly light fisted.

Must be in the works. Dawson withdrew from scheduled PABA defence

If its happening then great stuff for Dan, Hope he puts on a good show.

I'm hearing it will be on early August in the USA. On the same card as Sakio Bika's world title defence.

Really happy for Daniel this opportunity has eventuated. Trout will rightfully go in as favourite, however if Daniel can go back to his old pressure, power style of fighting and not try and outbox trout he has a chance to cause an upset.

Agree mate. Dan has to be on his game, if he is, he's a definite chance

Don't see much of a chance for Dawson even if he's on his game. What performances lead you to believe he has a realistic shot of beating someone who recently defeated Cotto , fought extremely closely with Canelo, and outclassed LoPorto?

Just looks like different classes to me.

Dawson's last performance was very good. I think it will have a lot to do with how good trout is on the day. If he takes Daniel lightly it will be to his peril. Like Sam and Daniel he will be an underdog but I think he may just cause an upset. One eyed parochialism maybe!!

Can't see a good ending for Dawson in this one. Either a shutout or a stoppage.
