First thing is what a superb job they are doing, they do great work and should rightly be making a living off it with sponsors etc. I have been a bit disappointed with the Froch v Groves stuff. Most of the interviews have been say 50 seconds with interviews with people like Carl Froch security advisor Bruno and his brother Lee Froch who needs no air time, hes a mug and hanging off his brothers name. Do you think with the sponsor they have went with quantity over quality?

Quality is still there, but been a bit more fluff.
But if there being paid per view by betway then fair enough.

The scale of the event meant that all the key players had to spread themselves thin to ensure everybody who needed a taste got a taste.

Only thing I wish was that there was one person holding the camera and the other in front of the camera doing the interviews with a decent mic. It's a little shoddy doing the interview from directly behind the viewfinder of the cam.

But, that little gripe aside, they're doing fantastic work.

I agree, these annoying 1min clips are bordering Elie Seckbach WHORING for views tactics poor form IMO.

As I said they are doing a great job but to be quite honest I don't wanna know what Bruno the bodyguard has to say, a 2 minute interview with Carl and a 1 minute interview with George, they have to up it, mark wright, jamie red knapp, someone phelps must be a matchroom girl

You don't get the opportunity to do long in-depth interviews at a circus like Froch v Groves. You grab who you can get to and have a small window to fire a few questions at them before some fair-weather dick with a mic is elbowing you in the ribs for their turn.

IFL is great for boxing but yeah they shouldn't give Lee Froch time on there he has come across as a right knob.

Would love to see Kugan respond to this. If his twitter and YouTube replies are anything to go with you'll get scorched!

I didn't watch much of their coverage for this event because like you say it was littered with pointless vids and I saw 10 seconds of a michelle phelps clip where he was teaching her Cockney rhyming slang in a sleazy way. Devalues most of his other work, looks desperate and also is contrived.

However given the size of the event time was a t a premium for the boxers so can't blame ifilm for that. And when they do get long content it's usually very good.

I'd get scorched? I enjoy most there stuff but feel that they are devaluing there work by the coverage they gave irrelevant people and promoting hair salons, sorry that's my opinion, when you open yourself up like they have they are gonna get some opinion, I also don't belive he doesn't get a lot of scope as he and Eddie Hearn seem to be very close,

You know if they put a video up that you don't want to watch, then just don't watch it. They put up more than enough content for you to find something you like.

You are talking like Groves or Froch after the fight could be arsed to spend any significant amount of time with them.

I watch the same kind of interviews.
But iFL is pure Gonzo journalism, if they start selecting more then it destroys the immediacy which leads to insights that would be ignored by mainstream outlets.

A Lee Froch interview will get triple the views of an interview with DeGale's opponent. Pretty much ends the discussion there. Supply and demand.

If that was part of the narrative of the build up to the fight then fair enough. Like it or not Lee Froch was part of the story.

Aaa it's fine having banter but giving the game hungry leech a platform is ridiculous, same as a streaker the tv acts In right way by removing part of the platform, supply and demand they have made their name with boxing interviews and the pasto th they have started taking a different path, they should not change a winning formula as they will loose a lot of viewers trust me, kugan does such a great job as he's an average joe living the dream of so many boxing fans by meeting and interviewing some of the worlds best fighters! Don't be big time and change, all I'm saying

I rather see Carl Froch's security advisor and brother interviewed instead of elie seckbach and gareth a davies.

The IFL interview with Bunce was a very good interview, the interviews with Kalle were also good. There is quality there amongst the quantity.

Wasn't a criticism of your post of which I agree with it was a criticism of the fact Kugan doesn't take criticism too well.

I love what they do. I can find interviews with the main event fighters on quite a few sites but they talk to trainers, undercard fighters, promoters, bodyguards, up & comers. All sorts connected to the game.

For a boxing fan like me it's an imaginary friendsend.

I dunno what people are complaining about here. I like the fact they get interviews with everyone! You get to hear all the different perspectives. It gets boring seeing the same people recycled for interviews! Keep up the good work IFL tv

Amen to that.
Some people just like a good moan, boxing coverage in the UK has never been better and as comprehensive.

In terms of media coverage and access to the promoters and key people before a big show we've never had it so good.

People say IFL favour Matchroom but lets have it right, before every Hennesssy, Hobson and Queensbury show IFL are there getting the interviews in. They clearly have good relations with almost all our top boxers and boxing personalities. There did seem to be more and shorter interviews this time around, but if that was because of what the sponsor requested then so be it. I'm glad they are making money out of it.

Im not negative at all, I watch IFL tv all the time I just dont believe in interviewing there brothers and security guards, Eddie Hearns wife and Sims daughter opening up a nail bar. Im sorry but they need to stick to what has made them a success. I understand I can pick what I view though and everyone is different.

They have to maintain the shoot and post approach. If they become selective they miss out on getting an interview. People don't want to give their time just for it to sit on an SD card.
