I personally think he's got good fundamentals but he still needs forging properly in 5 or 6 tougher fights before he faces a more seasoned pro like Billy Joe Saunders, whom I also rate too.

It will be a good fight when it happens, as BJS has really been putting some good quotes out there about it.

Matchroom's John Ryder already fought BJS so I can't see it being impossible to make.

Makes sense. I'm not sure Eubank's lofty ambitions can be attempted on the independent route. There needs to be investment in the opposition at some point. His last fight was a massive PR own goal, and the opponent was no better than people he was fighting 12 months earlier.

If so they should make Eubank jnr vs Ryder.

Good move by Eubank for sure. Lets hope Eubank starts fighting higher level opponents over 12 rounds ffs.

Doesnt seem to have much of a following, so it's going to be difficult getting the better quality opponents in as the figures just wont add up.

What could possibly be the motivation of wanting to put him on Saturdays show? It's going to be a poor opponent both at late notice won't bring anymore fans/viewers and will probably cost a fair bit as Eubank jr won't come cheap.

I don't know mate - I guess that he doesn't bring anything in terms of direct ticket sales, but his name (and an appearance from his dad) will definitely generate interest.

They might have him on a kind of "Hughie Fury deal" where he boxes for free (possibly even pays his opponents purse) to ensure that he gets a fight against an opponent that they choose.

Jr has tweeted that he will be fighting on Saturday, and should not be taking the fight as he's been partying all weekend and had no prep. That is true, however im going to be reading his tweets on sunday when he has won, and proberly in good fashion that this fight was taken on last minute and still with no prep he's so damn dangerous. Yawn.

I hear he's got Stepan Horvath over 8.

Eubank Snr didn't have an army of fans either, but people tuned in, hoping he'd lose. I think Jnr is heading the same way; a fight with Billy Joe would attract a lot of attention both as a competitive match, and because people would be hoping to see Eubank beaten up (I think BJ polarises people too, so it might be a no-lose situation for some people!)

Yeah. Slightly better than I was expecting, altho it is still a light middleweight who's been stopped twice before. Really hope he gets a good step up for the Manchester bill. Tomorrow nights bill is one I'm really looking forward to despite Haskins's fight falling through and I have to say the Fury v Chisora bill looks good too.
