Is it just me or is Eddie gunna get the chance to have an Eliminator orgy for the next 24 motnhs out that list for young Callum? Hardly a murderers row in front of him with 2 or 3 exceptions.

Just goes to show what happens to the alphabet boys when each one of them has three champions (Super, Interim, Mega-mongo etc) and therefore cant rate these guys. Effectively rules the true top 10 out of each others rankings.

Have to admit that I'm not keen on them rushing Smith as I think he still needs to face somebody who will punch back, but there are actually quite a few decent development opponents in that list and very few that I'd be overly concerned with putting him in against. A whole lot of damaged goods and un-provens.

I get the impression that Hearn and the Americans are somewhat interested in the Love fight.

Very winnable fight, thought Love looked awful against Periban until Periban gassed it (and the ref helped out IIRC). Other than 1-5, I'm not seeing much quality in that list at all.

Love's a decent boxer, but looks very fragile, if Smith's power is anything like has been suggested, he'd have a great chance of getting to his chin long before the end.

I imagine we'll defo see Manfredo at some point.

Its a silly ruling, but because Degale fought in an IBF sanctioned eliminator last time he gets omitted from the WBC rankings. DeGale was ranked 2 or 1 before his fight with Gonzalez.

Same with Fury - he was very highly ranked with the WBC, didn't he win some eliminator fight with them... signs to fight Chisora for a WBO eliminator - falls to 12 on WBC ranking... he beats Chisora and I predict he won't be in top 15.

Where's Tocker Pudwill?

The future of things to come then each belt has 2-3 champions & doesnt rate anyone that has any belt in any of the other sanctioning bodies no matter how shitty they are such as the Intercontinental etc.

So what this shows is that if you fight an eliminator for a different strap then the WBC will drop you out of their ratings? Crazzy !

Well it's about right really. Those rankings have never been based on who's the best in reality.

Yep, that's the nail on the head. But it's reaching an extremity now where you are ruling out the whole true top 10 at the weight, meaning you are looking at guff like Edwards and Jack in the top 10 when in reality they are 15-30 at best. Just leaves their whole rankings pretty meaningless......not that I ever look at them anymore anyway....but this thread shows the trend. I can imagine it wouldn't take much digging to find similar across the board in the WBC rankings now.

So how does Chavez jr take the no1 spot with only 1 fight at super middle(call it 2 but the vera1 was at a catch weight) over say groves? Who will have slipped but surely not out the top15

Disappointing that Smith ain't fighting 1 of these on July 12th.

...Pete will probably still be in their top 50 when he's retired, driving a truck for a living and still telling the boys down at the bar that he had Calazaghe just where he wanted him before the ref saved Joe.
