Fight's of the year (so far)

2013 had some cracking fights, for me this year has not quite delivered in the same way, with a few disappointments but some very good individual performances.
Any tips for the ones that we may have missed so far.
I can't think of many!
My favourite is Matthysse v Molina and that stopped being competitive in the second half..
Dickinson v Clarkson was a good domestic

Tommy Coyle vs Brisuela was the best domestic scrap so far with 8 knockdowns, but a bit of an unfair stoppage especially given what had already taken place.
Cunningham vs Mansour was excellent, back and forth heavyweight punching with a great comeback.
Even Mayweather was in a very good fight against Maidana, maybe not FOTY but still among the best I've seen so far.

^ Agreed. Those 2 fights are in my top 3 favourite British fights this year (alongside Dickinson v Clarkson). It goes to show that small hall shows can produce absolute classics.

Serious. Google Rodrigo Guerrero vs Daniel Rosas people, utter fvcking warfare.

Dickinson vs Clarkson was ridiculous as well, & the Tommy Coyle vs Brizuela fight was a shootout; there was a great one between Kohei Oba & Randy Caballero, Mansour vs Cunningham was exciting (well, for heavyweights) & Juan Carlos Reveco vs Felix Alvarado was one of those where both fellas left it all in the ring.

I quite enjoyed Hozumi Hasegawa vs Kiko Martinez, too, for what it was.

I was trying to find the Rosas/Guerrero fight, it was on the UC of a Chocalito fight but can't find either - Where'd you find/watch it? don't say youtube...I hate it.

Was it Box Axteca?

I'm not sure thinking back, I remember it was on a different broadcast to Gonzalez's for some reason, I assume the fighters have different Mexican TV contracts. Was very weird at the time.

Worthy of a mention

Crolla vs Murray
Francis vs Ajisafe
Rees vs Buckland 1

Matthyse vs Molina is a great shout also as is Coyle vs Brisuela.

Was also engrossed with Woodhouse vs Hamilton - maybe not in the same standing as the ones mentioned above but a great contest.

Just watched Rodrigo Guerrero vs Daniel 'Bad Boy' Rosas, what a corker! "keep on throwing and don't clinch!" seemed to be the gameplan.
I saw Crolla/Murray, Francis/Ajisafe they were both good, Only seen Rees/Buckland 2 just about to watch Coyle/Brisuela

Rees vs Buckland 1, and Tommy Coyle vs Brusella are my favorites so far this year.

Molina vs Matthysse was surprisingly entertaining too.

The British SBW title fight between Gavin McDonnell and Leigh Wood was a great fight

In my opinion, the domestic fight of the year so far would either be Tommy Coyle vs Daniel Brizuela or Gavin Rees vs Gary Buckland. Both bouts were action packed and both warranted rematches. Thankfully we got to see Rees and Buckland go at it again, but it's unlikely that we'll see Coyle - Brizuela 2.
As for the international fight of the year - I'd have to vote for Lucas Martin Matthysse vs John Molina. That was a fantastic battle and it was a great example of just how good and tough Matthysse really is. The same can be said for Molina. Both men are a credit to the sport.

Great fight. I scored the fight a draw, but in my heart I felt like Wale deserved the win. It's a shame the BBBofC have ordered McDonnell to defend against Jazza Dickens instead of approving the Wale rematch.

Dickinson v Clarkson shall not be surpassed, forget the fact it was not for a huge title etc, its two men laying it absolutely all on the line in a 50/50 ding dong. This coupled with the huge respect for each other afterwards made for a great spectacle. If you have not seen it I suggest you do, Its my fight of the year......so far.......lol..

The winner looked like he'd been knocked out, cornermen physically lifting him up and taking him back to the corner! No sign of a doctor..
