Only if Brook is 100% fit, something most boxers admit to never being.

Is there any bookies taking bets on this? Would be interesting to see what odds are on offer.

My guess:

Brook to turn up - 3/1
Brook to pull out with gastroenteritis - 6/5
Brook to pull out for any other reason - 1/4

I hope i'm wrong but I have feeling that he may become conviently injured if Brian Rose wins tonight. Then he can move up to light middle and have a much easier shot at a world title. As i say, I hope i'm wrong, as I do like Kell

Yes. There's plenty on Social Media who have their suspicions also.

As far as i can recall,Kell has only pulled out the Alexander fight twice with Devon also pulling out once, what other fights has he pulled out?

I know he should be further ahead this stage of his career and he has had bouts of inactivity but do people really believed he bottled out of fighting Devon Alexander??

He was offered a fight with Bradley, immediately after Bradley 'beat' Pacqiuao and his stock was huge. He refused the fight based on the fact he had a high ranking with the IBF sighting he did not want to lose his high ranking, not because of options or the payday as some will have you believe. Had he fought and beaten Bradley he would have become a big name both here and across the pond and he would have picked up the WBO belt.

Foolish move IMO, i can only conclude he did not fancy the job.

Yeah that makes it way more suspicious, he's never pulled out of any fight but the 1st time he fights a live world class opponent he pulls out. Twice. Used to be a massive brook fan. Like most people (except the guys who seem to know him) I have lost all patience with him. Mandatory for over 4 years now, 31 fights that have no significance on the world scene. If this fight doesn't happened due to Brook he's finished. Like most I wouldn't be surprised though.

X2

I'd like to see this thread dusted down and revisited after the fight happens, and especially if Kell wins. I give him a 50/50 chance.

Did I miss something?

To my knowledge Brook pulled out ONCE against Alexander who also pulled out ONCE.

Did he skip another fight or fights due to injury?

Thanks

Brook definitely pulled out twice against Alexander. Regardless, these things happen (look how many times Haye has pulled out over the years!!), let's all try to give him the benefit of the doubt one last time. If he pulls out again I'd say his career as a credible fighter would be pretty much over, so hopefully all goes well in training and we finally get to see how good Brook actually is.

He was asked about a Bradley fight that never happened. Bradley didn't box.

He was'nt just asked about a Bradley fight, he recieved a concrete offer, which he rejected for the reasons noted above. He bottled it!

allegedly got a little dig in against Brook in his Sun article yesterday:

"Starting for just the 16th time as a pro, no Englishman has scaled the sport's summit in fewer fights than Butler. To put it into context, when Butler made his pro debut on my show in December 2010 in Liverpool, Kell Brook, who was one of the top of the bill fights, was the WBO mandatory contender for the World title and had just fought in an eliminator. Yet almost four years later, Butler is already the world champion and Brook still hasn't challenged for the world title. Brook will finally get his shot in August, but he has to travel and give away home advantage when he takes on WBA World champion Shawn Porter in New York."
