Super Middleweight Prospect? How good is this fellow, does he have championship qualities?

Yes. He looks a fantastic prospect.

I'd go as far as to say he is the best prospect from the UK in the last 10 years. Forget Joshua, this is THE one to watch.

Its a bold statement but I believe he is. Can't think of many who have looked better at this stage of his career. Im really impressed by him and especially the way he worked out his last fight. He has good range, works the inside incredibly well for a tall man, has KO power and looks better every time I see him. I think you could put him in with the top level guys and he wouldn't look outclassed now. He beats groves and degale in the next 2 or 3 years when he eventually moves into that top bracket.

We've yet to see him really get hit so far though to be fair. His brothers, well Paul and Stephen dont have the greatest chins in the world IMO so we'll have to see how he does in that regard.

I don't like sitting on the fence. This lad should go all the way from what I have seen. I don't see any weaknesses thus far.

I don't believe Joshua is as good a prospect. You can see holes in his style.

At least one of us will be able to say 'told you so!'

To be fair Vitali & Wlads chins couldn't be further apart in the toughness stakes.

I've been watching Callum since his pro debut but I've learnt to be cautious with UK prospects.

I was most impressed with his blow out of Mendy though.

Yeah that's a very good point.

I have my moments.

He's on a very exciting journey & ain't getting no push overs either, despite pushing them over

I think he still has a lot to learn though he doesn't move his head a lot and his foot work isn't great hes quite stiff that said he has a lot of potential.

He goes to the body well for such a tall man, I rate him highly but like one of the other posters says that he needs his chin testing but if he comes through that he could become a real star and win world titles and maybe in a couple of weight divisions as he has the height to go to light heavyweight at some point

A bit early for the talk of him being world class, but clearly has some tools and has performed about as well as you could ask so far.

That's the thing that really stands out to me. His punch selection I think his second to none amongst the super middleweights. He really works both the body and head well and has a wicked left hook to the body.

I like Callum Smith. I'm just a bit worried about his lack of movement, it might cost him against better fighters.

Lack of head movement and a little bit static at times but he looks great offensively.

Looks a good prospect but hard to tell how good he is until he steps into championship class.

I think he's been matched quite well,Acosta was world level not so long ago(well kinda),Mendy's decent and he passed those tests with flying colours,2 decent challenges within your first 10 bouts is good going

No one has seriously tested his defence except Tobias Webb in the first round of their fight in a May.

Seems a sound guy and his body punching is as good as anyone's.

Will his next opponent (Biosse)take him past 6 ? Not watched him yet
