99% of fighters would have quit after a couple of rounds he showed great guts and deserves allot of respect, he was just a few levels out of his league but no shame in that he was beat by a great fighter

Fighters go on after suffering knockdowns and being outclassed all the time. Not to knock Rose, but he hardly did anything outstanding.

Algeri fighting successfully through the horrific swelling for so many rounds was impressive though.

Great performance from Algeri. It looked like he was going early.

when you're outclassed at football, all that happens is that you get a 6-0 hammering and a bit of humiliation for a few days. Different story in the old boxing game. Very painful experience, and I'm afraid the cash will be little consolation.

I don't know if it was simply Andrade being too good, or Brian being too bad. Rose did everything wrong when fighting a southpaw - and I mean everything!! I've got to assume that Bobby Rimmer had him well prepared and he had a lot of southpaw sparring, but maybe he just froze.

Gavin Rees's hammering from Broner was bad, but this was worse. I hate to say it, but we've got to be honest, I don't remember a British boxer being in a more one sided thrashing in a world title fight.

One of the worst hammerings of a Brit abroad I've seen in quite a while.

Poor Paul Lloyd was in not 1 but 2 thrashings.

Rees did okay against Broner, possibly won the first two rounds.

Purdy, Lockett, Jennings, Rhodes, Hatton, Macklin were all in pretty one sided title fight beatings

Exactly...I'd much rather see a fighter come up short in a genuine world title fight than spend years defending some minor title against nobodies. No shame in a boxer finding his level, credit to Rose for even getting in the position, although obviously he was outclassed on the night.

Totally agree at least he can say he fought for a genuine world title in America. Not many people can say that.

Agreed. Every sportsman should keep climbing until they've found their level, it's the only way they'll ever know and leave no ifs and maybes but, at the same time, it's important for their representitives to get them the best possible deal when they're going into the lion's den and the likelihood is they'll come up short.

Rose was well and truly outclassed by Andrade. Wonder if Andrade will ever get a shot at Mayweather? A big rangy southpaw would be tough for the money man.

I hate to see any boxers slated,especially British ones but ive gotta say i was dissapointed in Rose's performance,i never expected him to win or even trouble Andrade really but i thought Brian would have threw caution to the wind a little but his punch output was lax to say the least,i wish he showed more of the devil we seen in the Maciel fight

I will say though Andrade's one quick cat and a great fighter who'll probably struggle to get good fights due to his style

Maciel was slow and crude though. Rose could get off with his punches. Andrade would just take a step back and make Rose fall short.

Brian Rose has done very well in his career, but he simply wasn't good enough to cause Demetrius Andrade any problems. Rose will never be a World Champion, but there is no reason that he can't go on and earn a very good living fighting at European and Domestic level.

Yeah it's easier said than done, the one time in the fight Rose tried to get aggressive he got knocked down immediately (in 3rd round I think?). Must have been very discouraging for Rose, but sometimes there's just nothing you can do against a far superior fighter. Rose actually looked pretty relieved when the fight was stopped although not badly hurt, and I can't say I blame him, unfortunately he was just out of his depth.

Oh yeah you couldnt get 2 more different boxers than Andrade and Maciel and no doubt Demetrius is a class act who'll give anyone at 154 a fight,its just a shame that Brian never really got to show any of the qualitys that got him the shot in the first place,he barely threw the jab which is probably his best asset as he knew it wasnt gonna land and he'd be countered,there were a couple moments when he looked like he was trying to make it ugly which was the right thing to do,he seemed content enough for the fight to be stopped though and maybe Andrade's punches were harder than he antcipated,shame but props to both men though

As i said i was quite dissapointed with the performance,easy for me to say that behind a keyboard but pudenda on CS need to learn how to show boxers respect,no shame in being outclassed by Demetrius Andrade

I thought Rose looked very stiff last night like he was pushing his punches out vs being loose and throwing them. Not sure if it was nervous energy which is understandable.
