BBBofC have announced this as a final eliminator for the British heavyweight championship. Anyone think Gary can win this? I personally think he will win handily -but I have been so wrong before!!

Its a massive step up for Cornish and he has been improving well each fight,if Sexton has anything left id fancy him to stop Gary

Hope Cornish can do it though and Carslaw can beat Welborn

I think you can put this in the wrong column.

good fight at this stage for Gary, Sams not the biggest heavyweight and for his size hasn't the greatest ko percentage but he is very experienced
Delighted the fights in Glasgow which can only benefit Gary as well, hope he gets top sparring

I can see Cornish giving it a good go but ultimately I think sexton will be too good For him and will run out a clear winner

I expect Cornish and Carslaw to come through these fights. Both will win on points being the home fighters. Only problem I can see is ticket sales being a problem.

Sexton to give Cornish a boxing lesson I reckon.

If big Gary can use his size and reach properly I can see him getting the win over Sam but it will show us where Gary is in his development either way.

Sexton always mixes with the best in the UK and Cornish has never beaten anyone with a winning record. Sexton to win this comfortably

Will be cheering on my fellow highlander, I suspect they'd only take this if they've seen enough from him in sparring to suggest he can handle it. Should be an interesting fight and a lot comes down to how much Sexton has left (both in the tank and desire).

Sexton has not won a relevant fight in 5 years........wherr as cornish has never fought one!

you think ticket sales will be a problem? i dont think they will, both guys are in a meaningful decent fights, mixed with maybe 4/5 local laddies on the undercard i cant see it not doing well .

Both don't really sell too many tickets.. Who can they put in the show that sells enough tickets to boost this..Got to hope for a lot of casual fans to show up. Neither fight will be that exciting looking at how they match up. Expect Carslaw close points and same for Cornish.Saltires last show was good and had decent ticket sales but the lagoon centre was by no means full and the majority of fans seemed to be from Dundee.. I hope I'm wrong and it sells well

Don't know too much about Cornish to be honest; other than the fact that he's big, young and fancied by some.

Sam has definitely been impressive in spells - he saw off the dangerous slugger Rogan twice - but he does seem to lack the size and pop to keep anyone bigger than him and with a decent skill set off him. I think Price and the second Chisora loss has set Sam backwards and this really is the last chance saloon for him; hopefully he turns-up and causes a bit of an upset.

He was looking well up for the Olubamiwu fight so hopefully confidence isnt an issue

Note sure if there is an exact date set but it will be in September sometime.

I saw that, I wonder if they will get Gary a warm up fight before then, it is getting late in the season to arrange something? Or if they will just continue to get him top sparring with Tyson Fury etc

Gary Cornish has had 18 warm-up fights.

Reckon the Sexton fight will get on TV? And by that, I mean the one he's actually having.
