Too bad those that stimulate conversation are prone to get sent packing. :(
Right?
Oh well, back to

You're lamenting the loss of a man who was sabotaging the Boxrec records? Only a troll would take such a position.
I'd rather it be quiet round here than have the forum flooded with demented propaganda. Plus those 'stimulating conversations' you refer to were one user having conversations with himself, under multiple names. More 'simulating' that 'stimulating'.
Worry not, your friend Duce is already back posting. See if you can spot who he is.

Hey i thought that too...Duce is back....Yancey why dont you contribute rather than complain that it is dead on the forum...? How about a joe frazier appreciation thread?

Exactly. If anything it was the insufferable one-note 'character' posters like Yancey and Duce that drove everyone away.

A lot of the forums are quiet...once they cancelled duce it probably cancelled out ten accounts. Surprised yancey didnt disappear...

Evren, check out the brand new user 'Caractacus'.
He 'writes' with a 'lot' of the old 'Duce' oddities, such as the habitual misuse of 'symbols', 'apostrophes', and various other strange ~idiosyncrasies~.
He also regularly links to the same Google archives that Duce spent his spare minutes on, those rare moments he enjoyed between writing his fan fiction.

I'm not "insufferable" (actually, try to be quite pleasant) nor am I "one-note".
The fact that you are not remotely astute enough to understand this is not my fault.
btw, I thought Il Duce was quite the pleasant sort.
Meanwhile, back to

Would you mind posting up a photo of Joe knocking "the Greatest"

on his butt in the Big One?
It would make my day.
tata.

You're not 'one-note'? Scan your post history, Yancey. It's hilarious how singular your interest in boxing is. Frazier, or Frazier through the prism of Ali/Foreman/Duce. A real medley of experience.

I know more about the top three divisions from the '60s and '70s than you can hold, boy.

Yep, the crazies among us are entertaining.
Hell, if he hadn't openly goofed with the database in such a way that his delusions of what "is" vs what "is imagined" were becoming "imposed on reality", He'd still be here, writing his fiction, entertaining the masses, and stirring it up on a daily basis.
Never had a problem with his imagination. Had a big problem with his attempted fraudulence.

If you dont mind me asking you Boxbuzz ,How could have Il Duce have been sabotaging the Boxrec records?
Was he a moderator with an inside all pass accsess?
Doesn't Boxrec need at least one or more sources of info before it adds or seemingly corrects on the Boxrec records?
(and no,Iam not Il Duce. Its seems to me posters like Tuan_Jim are the trolls,
what he and others did to Il Duce seemed like Senior Citizen abuse on the inter-net.
Any fool could tell you that Il Duce was posting threads here that he was interested in for his own edification.
PS Be careful what you say here Yancey, you may be next!!!
Tuan_Juan ,you with your measley 327 ass-backward ignornat ill informed postings.
You couldnt carry Il Duce's jock-strap!!

lol well he had a different relationship with that division, and had sold himself pretty well with the guards at the gate I guess.
So yes he had access, but not for long, and once his contributions to the database were reviewed, it was quickly recognized and corrected. So no long term damage done, the data base is after all, a labor of love, by human beings, and sometimes trust is lent out....but once verified to be false, trust can be withdrawn as well.
And yes, there need to be multiple sources before permanent changes can be made. But one can submit "pending" changes as I understand. Subject eventually to verification.
does this answer your questions?
I'll "trust" you are not the ol "Ducer" lol. Until further verification.....
See how it works?

No not really.
I had contributed some info to the boxrec records in the past myself.
Namely DOD of a number of Heavyweight fighters that werent listed here.
But I did it over at the Boxing Records and Updates forum
and I always listed a hyper-link to the newspapers I found in it.
BTW Thanks for deleting two months of threads I spent Blood Sweat and Tears
working on after I got out of the hospital in March after having been there for six months .

You know it could be that Il Duce and I may have been of roughly the same age demographics(Baby Boomers),education, and originally from the same part of the country(East Coast).
(although I always figured that he was at least ten years older then me)
BTW way Tuan_Jim ,do you mind me asking what your age and nationality is(or were it was that you were born rather?)

Why couldn't Duce return but without the ability to alter the record section?
I thought he was funny.

I missed all the drama...Sure he was an eccentric but why would he deliberately sabotage the records section?

Agree,

Yeah, but what did him in was sabotaging the records section. That was bound to go over
very badly.

That's an excuse I keep hearing. I find it odd that he "Sabotaged the records section" right around the time that Klompton was threatening to sue him and Boxrec for libel.
He was lying the entire time he was here, but the minute somebody starts crying "Lawsuit" then he gets banned.
I find it far more likely that's the reason why he was banned.

I am one of the main editors that used Il Duce's information to add to the database and I am embarrassed about it. I have been contributing to the records and research of old boxers for years and I ignored several attempts by other researchers to remove Il Duce-contributed records, because I trusted the information and I didn't want to call a fellow poster a liar. The proof was overwhelming, however, and so now the process of modifying the database is underway. For everyone that was 'entertained,' feel free to read a novel. For those that care about the boxers and want accurate information about the men who sweat and bleed in the name of sport, I can assure you that this has not been an entertaining process.
